        Hi guys,

I was wondering how to “play” with my bunny. He is not interested in toys sadly since I spent lots of money on them. He only likes cardboard boxes to destroy. I usually hold the boxes everywich way and he reaches out to get them.

He has the whole room to himself including the bed.

Since the winter is coming he won’t get his outdoor time. How do I excercise him?

Thanks I want to keep him active.

My bunny likes shred boxes (carboard boxes with hay or shredded paper in them). But my bun’s not big on regular toys either and is kinda lazy.

Thanks for your reply I like to read about your bunny.
I adopted my bunny and he was way over weight. He lived in a cage most of his time. I want to keep him active during his active times.

              Thanks.

And yeah, buns tend to be a little more lazy when they are overweight. I would just provide him with toys and other activities along with a proper diet. Other than that I don’t really have other advice for what you can do. They aren’t like a dog or cat where you could throw a ball or make them chase a string.

Thanks I will keep that in mind. Sorry for not being on.

You can give him all his daily pellets in a treat ball. That way he has to work for his food. And it’s good for you too because a bunny chasing a treat ball is crazy cute to watch!

Avalon and Morgana like to run around, chew, dig, and do anything destructive. Lancelot likes to charge up his ramp, roll his box around, and hob over to my room to explore. Guin does a few binkies, likes to throw her chew toys around but other than that – she is quite sedentary. And overweight. They all love the cat treat balls. It is indeed crazy cute to watch. Lancelot lifts his up and throws it down. Then he rolls it around. Very feverishly – as if he hasn’t eaten in days. Some rabbits are naturally encouraged to run around if they have a good sized space to do it in. Other than that, their isn’t much you can do to make them exercise. Overweight bunnies are also less likely to be running around.

I suggest target training and agility. Target training is teaching your bun to follow a certain stick, and agility is getting your bun to do obstacles, such as jumps. I recommend watching YouTube to learn how. The accounts I watched were Stormyrabbits and 101rabbits. They have great videos on the topics.
