I’m thinking I got really lucky with my bunny, but maybe this behavior is more common than I think?

When I settle on the couch at night to watch TV or a movie, more and more often Owen will jump up to join me.  If I’m laying on my side, he’ll snuggle next to me.  If I’m on my back, he’s getting quite comfortable with the concept of plopping down right on top of me.  Of course, in either case head rubs are involved.    Last night he did the latter through virtually two complete movies.  He’ll jump down once in awhile to go chew the phone book or whatever, but then a few minutes later he jumps right back up.  It’s really quite adoreable.

So, does anyone else’s bunny do this?

That is super cute! I totally WISH my bunnies did this, but for the most part when I am watching TV they are running around trying to make sure that nothing needs to be re-chinned, or seeing if their bunny bums can fit under the couch or behind the couch, or if they can pull up the carpet without me noticing. It sounds like he totally loves you that is so sweet!

Is Owen fixed yet? If he isnt then it is hormones for now. He would be going thru a cuddly phase that will go away eventually.

Our Hoopie though is almost 3yrs old and he is out with us every evening for a few hours. He was fixed at the shelter before we ever got him. He think he is a cat anyways because he was fostered for some time with a family full of like 5 rabbits and several cats and he bonded with the cats and still has some bizarre cat traits. But, everynight he and I hang out and watch TV. He will typically sit/lay on the couch beside me for head rubs and pets but will never ever lay on me. Wouldnt ever even attempt this ever and he is probably the most laid back bunny ever.

My Carrera when she was about 4yo before we had her fixed she was like Owen. She would lay on my tummy and fall asleep. She would lay and give me kisses. Every night she would demand to sit in my lap or lay on me to sleep but once she was fixed she completely changed. Our local HRS mgr said it was hormones that made her lovely and once she was fixed her true personality came out.

But even when buns can be alike they are still so different so if your buns is fixed then you have a gem. He may grow out of this behavior but hopefully not. He is so cute!

Oh, Owen is very fixed and has been for awhile.  He was at a shelter and then in various foster homes for about seven months before I found him and adopted him from the local rescue.  But don’t let him fool you.  For all his cute behavior, he’s still a mischievious bunny who digs and chews on carpet and anything else he can get his teeth on.  Just last week he ate the hands off a Doctor Who action figure…   But I’m very happy he’s become so snuggly, although it kinda makes me feel bad when I’m out for an evening.

Aww! My Remy does the same thing. He follows us around everywhere and even gets in bed with us at night and sleeps in between us. I love it!

I can do this only on the floor with Jack. Years ago he used to be allowed up on the chairs and couches, but he will pee and/or chew on them, so he no longer is allowed and he stopped attempting to try a long time ago. So it’s floor snuggles only. When he comes running out to the living room, I just grab a few pillows to join him, or I’ll do the same in the bunnyroom. (I just turn the webcams off then)

My two jump up on the sofa with me when they want a pet. When they’re through with me, they hop away. It’s very cute, but doesn’t last for longer than 10 or 15 minutes at most.
