I live in an area where pretty much no one has ac because it usually doesn’t get hot enough to warrant it, but we’re going through a hot spell and I’m worried about my bun.  I read the article on this site about how to deal with the hot temperatures but my bunny doesn’t like the things I’ve tried.  I froze water bottles and put them in the places she likes to lounge, but she just runs away from them and is clearly suspicious of them.  I tried a fan and damp towels but she won’t have anything to do with it.  Any other methods on how to keep my bunny cool without terrifying her?

          Hi,

So you can try an oscillating fan, buy some tiles from a home improvement store and lay them around on the floor, cold water in her bowl, a cooling mat you can buy at pet stores for dogs. You can even freeze fruit in ice and put it in a bowl for her to lick.

          I hope this helps

I know how you feel, my bedroom, where my bun sleeps gets boiling. I bought a large oscillating fan and the good thing about it is the lead comes from the top I can keep it away from the floor so he can’t chew it. Another thing that worked was putting cold wet face towels around the floor, my bun was dubious at first but then started lying on them. He wasn’t a fan of the bottles but I found some bunny ice pod disks, they go into the freezer, because they weren’t as big as the bottles he really took to them. I think their by scratch and newton.

Thank for the tips, I especially like the idea of the fruit in ice. I will give all these a try and see what sticks.
