Hope this doesn’t offend anyone—but man is our bunny horny!!!! Seems to take it out on the boyfriend the most, too. Humps his arm every chance she gets, he has lots of scratches to prove it! Running in circles and grunting like she did before the head tilt.

I think she’s older then we thought she was too. We were thinking like 5 months, but now thinking more like 8 months. Definately time to get spayed, but what do you guys think? She still has the head tilt a little bit, but shows lots of signs of her normal self. When she was really bad (head tilt-wise) the vet said don’t even worry about spaying her. (I think he was thinking she wasn’t gonna make it). I’ll have to call and see what he thinks too, now that she is getting better.

In the meantime…..I guess we just have to deal w/ a horny bun!

            Talk about feeling better!!!
I think you could call the vet who was the expert on head tilt who advised your first vet. He’d know the full impact of the spaying procedure on her recovery. Tell him her progress – he may be able to give you a time frame or small indications to watch for that will signal when it’s OK to have it done.

And your BF might consider bringing home flowers, wine, mood music…oh yea, and something nice for you too.

              Rabbitpam LOL :~)

Let us know what the vet says. She certainly sounds like she is feeling better.

i wouldn’t think the surgery would be a problem, as long as the vet thinks she is healthy enough to go thru it. let us know what you decide.

                  Haha…very funny Pam!!!

We were wondering….is it strange for a girl bunny to mount and hump? It just seems like a boy thing to do…..and we know now that she is a girl, as two different vets have told us that….What do you guys think?

Oh no, females can do this as well. It’s not a gender thing at all.

It’s just like the humping during bonding – it can be either the male or the female rabbit trying to establish dominance.

So now boston is randomly thumping. We pet her, she thumps, we don’t pet her, she thumps—very tempramental. Then today she was going to town on my BF’s arm trying to hump him and she has always nipped when doing this, but today she actually took a chunk out of his arm!!! Why do bunnies bite when they are humping???!!! Whew, looks painful!!! Glad it wasn’t me. We can tell when she’s coming to try to hump cuz she poops everywhere!!!
