Hello! I wonder if you guys know if bunnies will have hormonal imbalances altering their behaviour for some time after neutering. I’ve had my little guy neutered yesterday and while he was always calm and kept to his cage with no signs of destructive behaviour, today I found him under the bed with a cord bitten in pieces (yes it was hidden away but apparently not good enough). I wonder if this could be due to hormonal imbalances? Or is it just a coincidence? What do you guys think? Im honestly just curious.

Some bunnies do go through a post neuter/spay craze, where their behavior can be a roller coaster. It’s just their bodies adjusting to the changes in hormones. I was lucky enough to have neither bun go through it. Hang in there

There’s a definite hormone influx that occurs after neutering! It can take anywhere from 2 weeks – 2 months for them to subside, but the hormones will subside eventually. His litter box habits might also take a hit, but it should only be temporary!

Wick became the sassiest boy alive after his neuter. “Oh, I don’t get another treat?” Pees on the sofa. “Oh, that bag crinkle wasn’t my food?” Pees on my foot.

Very normal, and should dissipate over time. It took Wick about 1-2 months I’d say.

Yes, it’s all quite normal. My sweet Wooly was a terror right after he was neutered. He chewed holes in all sorts of random things!
