Our poor baby Hoopie! Tuesday during the day he was fine but that evening when he came out to play he would barely open his left eye. So I kept the lights off and we flushed the eye with saline. Wednesday he kept it closed most of the time and then when I called the vet I forgot they closed at noon so I missed being able to make an appt. So again, more saline flusing every 4 hours, I would clear the crusties out and I was putting warm compresses on the eye as well trying to help with all the crusty stuff.

We got into the vet today and she put this neon stuff into his eye and it lit up a spot in the lower eye. She said it could have been anything. He is so OCD w/ cleaning himself I am betting he nicked his eye with one of his nails. Poor little guy!

So she gave me some eye ointment to put in it every 12hr and I have to take him back on Monday. In the mean time I am to keep most of lights off so his eye doesn’t have to squint.

Please send healing vibes our way.

She gave me Bacitracin ointment to put in the eye twice a day and it really is making a difference. He is keeping the eye open most of the time when the lights are low Yah!

Thank you guys for healing vibes!

Thanks everyone! He has been so happy lately and of course getting away w/ murder in the meantime. lol

So..reading posts about bunnies being in beds makes me so jealous so Wed nite my husband was out of town for work so I thought I would have Hoopie come and keep me company. I brought up his dinner, left over breakfast pellets, water and litterbox and made sure he knew where I had put them. Immediately he was so excited! Running and playing and seeing where everything was. Our bedroom has alreays been off limits because they all like to chew holes in our clothes so I made sure there were none on the floors. The last time I tried this he kept me up all night and I banished him forever back to his bed. lol

But the night went really well and I slept well and only woke up a few times. I told my husband and the next night he was home and he told me Hoopie could sleep with us! What? Well, he had to work the next day and I didnt want him mad if Hoopie kept him up so I told him no and put Hoopie in his own bed for the night.

So, last night Hoopie slept with us together for the first time. I put him on top of the bed where he sat on my husbands lap for a minute and then jumped off the bed never to return. He immediately found a place under the bed and sprawled out and was lounging. So cute. He didnt keep my husband up at all! Yah! So that means if Hoopie wants to sleep w/ us more he can! Woohoo!

Silly, but ive always wanted a bunny in the bedroom and Hoopie is such a clean freak and he is the only one we can truely trust not to make a mess. So I am so glad that he is comfy enough to come hang out w/ us. Jarod makes it sound like its just only while he is “hurt” and maybe so but maybe it can be permanent? The other bunnies pick on him so much. We have no other animals so I have been itching for a fuzzy animal to sleep w/ us. lol
