Hello!! I’m in need of some advice, I’ll be bringing home a baby bun, 9 weeks old, on January 12. I’ve already paid for her and am extremely excited for her homecoming!! However, she’ll be coming home a week after we start our floor remodel in my room): luckily, it is only in my room and the bathroom, not the entire house. The remodel will last about 3 1/2 weeks. I want her to have the best, smoothest, stress-free transition into my home. Could anyone please give me tips on how to make this time, with all the noise of remodeling and strangers, any less stressful? I am extremely worried she will be so scared, it’ll affect her temperament in the future, making her more skiddish. I have a lot of love for this bun and just want her happy! Also, the bunny is already paid for and is due pick up January 12. I can’t just push it back):

Can you keep her in another room where she’s not near the sound of the remodel?

Also some buns are just naturally skittish and will be the first few weeks. Some take months or years to even fully open up to their owner. So one event would determine her personality and temperament forever. And how they act at the breeder is entirely different from how they’ll be when they get home. So you can’t necessarily count on that either. It’s just one of those things only time will tell. Some bunnies are extremely sensitive to sounds or smells and others aren’t.

At the breeder Bombur didn’t come up to me or my husband at all. He was busy running around and having a good time, whereas Asriel hopped right up to me and begged to be pet. We bring them home later and it’s completely different. Asriel was very timid and Bombur wanted to be with us constantly. Not much has changed in almost 2 years. Asriel loves getting snoot rubs now, but he’s still very independent and not incline to hang with us. Bombur is sensitive to sounds even when they’re downstairs and on the opposite side of the house. If he hears something amiss he’ll thump for a solid 10 minutes. Asriel is sensitive to smells (dogs, cats, the smell of meat cooking) and will cower in a corner until you wash your hands or change your clothes.

So a lot of it will depend on the bunny, not so much the situation.
