Hi all,
I have been really busy in grading finals and going to meetings. Today is my first day off from it all. I thought I would let you know what my Holly Hunny Bunny has been up to. BTW that is her full name. We just call her Holly for short.
I’m not sure if I posted this or not. As soon as we get our check from the gov, my hubby said I can make the appointment for Holly’s spay, so in the next month or two this should take place. I have to tell you that i’m a little nervous about this, but I know it is for her best. I’m all for it. I know all of you all have felt similar.
Litter training in the living room has been an adventure. I guess that is the polite way to say it
She’s getting better. All I have to do now is squirt the squirt bottle. It doesn’t matter if she gets wet or not. As long as she hears it, she is in the area she’s supposed to be and many times she rushes to the litter box. She is starting to go there on her own more often with out any prompting from me.
The other day I had to laugh even though it made me just a tiny bit ticked. I brought her out. She went straight to the litter box with out me saying or doing anything. I praised her and then gave her a treat. Then she directly went to where my cell phone is and knocked the thing off the little table. I could’t figure that out. Crazy girl.
I finally got that attack bunny sign. I am going to include a few pictures for you. I now really appreciate more the photo sessions that people like Lion Lop and Baby Buns mom does. It took us a while to get a few pics that we liked.
This is just an observation. Many times people have post on here asking how to play with their bunnies. I think Holly takes some of the prey traits and uses them as a game. For instance, today i was petting her. I stopped. I went to pet her and she ran away from me. I didn’t go get her she stopped and stared at me until I started toward her and then she started running again. I honestly do not think it was out of fear. I wasn’t doing anything to harm her. If I didn’t go toward her she would stare at me until I did. Finally she came and requested a head pet and then climed on my lap for a minute before visiting one of her toys. Basically, I just let her be her.
She also helped us find a noisy cricket that got in our house. We coudln’t find it. My hubby saw Holly staring at something and sort of following it. He was able to get the cricket out of the house. I’m not sure how. I didn’t ask.
Sorry about my long post.

This picture was like my 10th try. I gave her a papaya treat to stay in one place. It worked.
This picture remnds me of the ET scene in the toy closet.
