Last week, I told you about Holly’s first visit. This one was a good productive visit in my opinion. Last week, the vet drew out some of the yucky stuff out of her neck. (I’m trying not to be gross.) I might of mentioned that in process, Holly jumped and this actually worried the vet. They observed her a little longer than they might of normally. Anyway, that actually was kind of a good thing. The last couple of days that area has been leaking. I was worried about this on several counts. One safety for us especially Zach, and since she has been keeping the area clean as she can and injesting the stuff her own safety. Today the vet said it was actually good that was open. It allows us to flush it and to get as much of the infection out as we can. She asked me if I was comfortable with doing that at home. I said yes. So now in addition to giving her antibiotics two times a day, I also have to flush it out. Holly is still doing the normal stuff bunnies do eating, pooping, drinking, and all that. I am keeping her in her enclosure though. I feel bad for not letting her out, but I can’t risk it with the baby. The vet said we were doing the right thing there. She said to keep the baby away from the bunny’s area and where she’ll be. No problem there for now anyway.
I feel better this week than I did last. She did tell me that she didn’t know how this would turn out. As my hubby keeps saying take it one day at a time. I feel that we are doing the best we can with what we can.
Thanks guys for your advice.
I can’t remember names but the one who is going through a similar situation, thank you. Kral something.
I’m not very popluar with Holly right now, and I miss the way life was just a few weeks ago. It’s time to get past that and accept what is now. I’m not writing her off. I’m just proceeding with caution.
