Is it possible for a purebred Holland lop to have regular ears? I have a 7 year old Holland lop. When I got her I was told she was a purebred (I really don’t care). Her ears don’t stand up all the time. Sometimes they are both down, sometimes one will stand up (which is absolutely adorable), most of the time they stand up, but not straight up like most rabbits. So I was just wondering if it’s possible that she is a purebred.

I don’t care if she is a purebred obviously. It’s not like I’d love her any more or less. I’m just curious.

Here are some pictures of her:

She’s definitely not purebred holland lop. I’d guess at her being a lop cross though because her ears do seem to partially lop.

I don’t actually see much of the holland lop traits in her at all but it is possible that is in her mix of course.

Either way, those every-which-way ears are very cute features. . Your Rex is gorgeous too!

Maybe she just likes to change her “do” every now and then hehe, kidding. I’d also guess she’s a lop cross of some sort. Beautiful though!

I agree. Her face and body shape don’t look very Holland Lop to me. Leopold is a Holland. He can hold his ear up if he really wants to, but it appears to take quite a bit of effort. I imagine your bun is probably a lop mix of some sort because I had a lop mixed bunny when I was a kid and her ears were like your bun’s. She would have one ear up, one ear down, both up, both down.

I know she is some kind of lop. I saw both of her parents and one of them (don’t remember know which was which) and one of them had lopped ears and the other one was like mine (crazy ears).

Thank you I think it’s adorable too.

She’s also bigger then a normal Holland lop. She’s about 5lbs.

That’s how my Toby is. She can do what ever she wants with her ears. Is seems like they are down more then she’s being lazy.

Holland lops can have ears that don’t lay flat down and airplane out due to ear placement, but she doesn’t have holland traits, especially in the head and face shape. Her body also isn’t as round.
