Stewie is a Holland lop and 5 months old. Since we got him, his breathing sounds hoarse. Like if you had a stuffy chest,
what your breathing would sound like. We took him to the vet twice and both times she checked him out and couldn’t hear anything wrong with him. He doesn’t have any symptoms like runny nose or eyes, open mouth breathing, nothing. It’s not consistent either. He’ll sound rough some days and the others seem like nothing is there. I just worry. Even though the vets couldn’t hear anything, I want to make sure my baby is fine.

It could be the way he is sitting or has his head at the time. Does he sit in a “bunny loaf” when you hear it. It may be snoring also.
Does he make the noise while eating at all?

With dwarf bunnies like netherlands and hollands, they have shorter faces (brachycephalic like pugs or persian cats for example). There can be breathing issues related to that. He may do a little more growing and this will hopefully self-resolve.

He will do it when just sitting there, running, eating. Whenever it starts it’ll happen for 3-4 hours, and we’ll hear it with whatever he’s doing.
But also like I said, some days he sounds great. He just got neutered and the vets said he sounded amazing under anesthesia and healthy otherwise. He sounds like he has a cold, that’s all I could describe it as. It sucks because there’s also days where he doesn’t sound bad at all. Its just odd.

He usually lays flopped or loafs, yes.
