Hi, My name is Danielle.  About four months ago, we got a bunny named Holly Hunny Bunny.  When I was younger, I used to be in 4-H in Ohio where I was born and raised.  I used to raise, breed, and show rabbits.  When I was 18, I got out of the bunny business.  Now, 16 years later, I have a new bunny. I learned about diseases and nutrition, but I didn’t know how much fun a house bunny was.  It has been a hoot!  I realize now I might know technical stuff about bunnies, but I really didn’t know them like I know Holly.  That kind of makes me sad.

Here are some pictures of my bunny Holly Hunny Bunny.  Holly for short.Holly is a mini rex rabbit.

Welcome Holly! Finding out what bunnies can really be like – their goofy antics, their likes and dislikes, their quirky behaviors, can be so rewarding. The best thing is you have now been where many people still are and so you may be able relate to those people better, and that can really help when you talk to others who would benefit from knowing their own bunnies better.

So tell us about Holly. What’s she like, how long have you had her?

What can I tell you about Holly? In the morning, Holly always is happy to see my husband and I. She is always begging for her treat and breakfast of pellets. During the week, after I get home from work in the afternoon, I put her in her bunny play room. She loves that. She runs and jumps and plays with toys. She is always happy when someone comes in with her. Often she jumps on our laps and wants to be petted. We usually let her tell us what she wants. If I’m not fast enough for her, she will thump at me. She’s never thumped at my husband yet. I think that is because I’m the one that takes care of her. Holly has a very sweet temperment. Yet, she loves to explore her surroundings.

sounds familiar I am from louisiana and had buns for 4H show and such. I had one come in the hosue with me wh ile I did my homework lol. he was my pet. my mom tells me I was ahead of my time with him in the house and training him where to poo etc. but he did live outside. I had told her in england they have had them as house pets for decades lol. thats why mom said I was ahead of my time. yes they are very exciting aren’t they. irresistable. I have had dreams all of my life about the rabbits I raised we had a pen with a gate and the cages inside to protect from the dogs which ran loose back then. and plastic sheets to pull down in freezing winter to protect them. and of course shade had a roof over them and were by the big tree I would dream of feeding them and so forth now I have 2 as an adult and those dreams have stopped they would scare me too cuz sometimes I dreamed I forgot to feed them nightmares I call them. I remember picking twigs off my moms hedges to feed them and for them to chew on. lol and grasses. they loved dollar weed.
