Hi all!

I’ve been a member for a while but haven’t actually had a rabbit until yesterday! I’d been thinking about getting a bunny for a while, and been doing copious amounts of research to see if a bunny would be right for me. Anyway, last week I went to my local feed store to get hay and litter for my sister’s guinea pigs, and there was the cutest little lop bunny. I fell in love! I really had wanted to rescue a rabbit, but after searching for months, I couldn’t find any shelter that had rabbits within a 3 hours away from me. I had found a woman on craigslist who had been trying to rehome her bunny who lived closer to me, but after about 2 weeks of correspondence, with everything agreed upon but when and where we would meet for me to pick up the bunny, she stopped responding to my calls and emails. 

But I ended up with Bun (as I am calling him/her until I can bring him/her to a vet to find out the gender), so I guess it worked out! 

I’m currently in the process of building him/her an enclosure, of 6’x2’x3′ (length x width x height). I’ll update my photo albums with pictures of the end product.

Thanks everyone! He/She’s been binkying around all day! I’ve never seen a bunny do that before, I never realized it was so darn cute!!
LBJ10 – Oh my gosh yes I’ve been trying to think of a gender neutral name, but haven’t found any that fit.
Ooh yeah, we’ve finished building her pen! It ended up being a little bigger than we had originally planned, it’s 6ft x 3.5 ft x 3 ft, but bigger is always better!

What an adorable bun, ecox! I can’t resist lops! Our first bun was/is a lop. She’s ridiculous looking, like a big gray mop, covered in long shaggy fur. Her name is Bruno.
