Holiday and Fiesta race for the geen beans:
This kind of gives you an idea of their mobility
oh my goodness… they’re so cute i could just cry
how is everything going? any ideas for wheels for them?
Leaf-you are just about the greatest person in the world for looking after those two darlings!!! I can’t get over it!
Thanks soo much for sharing that video (I’ve shown everyone your pictures of those cuties!!)
I think I’ve said it before. Leaf, you’re a better person than me. I couldn’t handle looking after those two, it would be too much for me…
OMG I agree with markusdark you are a way better person than me. You are a bunny angel! They are just so cute. How do you deal with the bathroom issues? It’s really great they have each other to worm around with!
omg they are so cute!and i am glad that there is someone who will give them a home like you so well done you! (in the sense that most people just want something cute and cuddly that just sits in the corner and looks fluffy) and yet you looked beyond their disability? for lack of a better word and saw their true bunny potential!
ps. dont mean any offence i am just trying to credit you as a wonderful person for doing something amazing! ![]()
Awww – they really ARE like little bunny turtles!
Bless you for taking care of them.
LOL they are hilarious and cute. Sad and everything, but it totally looks like they don’t notice that they’re disabled. They’re just hanging out and munching like any rabbit would.
Same here Leaf would have to be the kindest person to look after a disabled rabbit let alone two of them.
They are so cute.
Leaf, I am humbled by the size of your gracious heart! Hol and Fee are SO precious! That is the cutest clip I have ever seen!
I don’t know which one is which, but it’s so adorable how the first one starts munching, the second seems to think about it for a minute and then realizes….”BEEEEEENNNNZZZZ!!” And then the chase is on! ^^
They look very happy and settled. There is no disability, there is only the love of two little hearts and the great heart that kept them together and gave them shelter.
You need to be nominated for “Bunny Mom of the Year!”
You have MY vote!
Leaf I agree with with mimzmom you are bunny mom of the year you have the biggest bunny heart I’ve ever seen my hat my heart and everything else I have goes out to you.
I nominate you for bunny mom of the year!
i’ll second that ![]()
Our hats are off to you, Leaf! What you’re doing is just admirable.
Aawwww your such a sweet cotton sox girl … I have not been following the post on how you adopted them … what happened to them anyways.
Such cute lil tings!
And yes they do look like little fluffy turtles.
Dawn xx
Too cute!
Thanks guys!
I was hesitant to post a video of them at first. Its easier to know them in person and judge their condition – than to see it in a video and be accurate in first impressions.
I just bought them some stuff off of this site. Hopefully they’ll love it all.
I really love these guys and would gladly open my home again to another special needs rabbit …
I think it’s important to know that such guys are having a quality life and watching such a video – even if some people may find it a little disturbing – is important. I saw another splayed legged bunny at SaveABunny and he had an itch on his ear. It was almost funny watching him try to scratch his ear with his back leg. His head went back and his eyes even gave that “aaaaaaaaaaah” look of satisfaction eventhough his back leg was just flopping at the side nowhere near the ear.
I think I made a lifelong friend when I opened the cage and scratched that ear for him.
I agree with Marksusdark! I’ve been around many disabled rabbits so I don’t find this disturbing – I find it inspiring.
Yes its soo inspiring! And cute, don’t forget cute!
See, I don’t see it as “sad” at all!
So many people are devastated when a beloved pet has a health condition, but usually the pet is much more adaptable than the people are. They don’t have “might have beens” like we do. They adjust because it’s the way things are. I know people with tripod bunnies, and blind bunnies, and they don’t *care* that they are different.
For many years at the Kansas City Renaissance Faire we had a guy who visited every year with his two beloved terriers – a brother and sister. Pearl was the girl, and she was partially paralyzed. She used a doggy wheelchair, with her back legs tucked up out of the way and a diaper on her fuzzy little butt. She as JUST as curious and active as her brother, and was a favorite among cast and visitors alike – always up for sniffies and pets! When she finally died last year, the entire show mourned.
I have some chronic health conditions which sometimes limit my activity, and I have learned a lot from animals in that respect. You do what you can and get on with the way things are.
These little guys are FINE – they are warm, and clean, and fed. They have each other, and they have you. They even have GREEN BEANS! Really, how can you get better than that?
i agree… it’s not sad at all. animals are so inspirational to me. the way they love unconditionally & trust & over come adversities always puts tears in my eyes. i think because of how simple it can be to be happy & find joy. i hope you continue to share vids & pics of your little treasures ![]()
Oh man Leaf, I just saw that video and I was literally in tears. . . . I really fell in love with those boys in the two days they were here and I am so happy to see them happy. . . . . Definately let me know what ends up happening with the other bunnies. . . . . I may have more room pretty soon.
What cuties!! I think its so funny how bunnies always prefer the food in the OTHER bunny’s mouth over all the other food. They look so happy, its so fantastic of you to take care of them, and to make the world a better place for our furry friends. You and the little guys are both very inspiring
I am so glad that they have you and each other to rely on (and to itch their little ears!)
