So my wife and I got a second bunny and are trying to bind the two of them, however, dasher is mounting and humping the new bun. Both are females. Is this normal behavior and does anyone have tips for bonding? Thanks!

Will ask the routine questions before more experienced members kick in:

          1) Are both bunnies spayed?
          2) Have you waited at least 3-4 weeks after the spay to let them even smell each other?
          3) How have you introduced them?

Do not keep them  together if they aren’t spayed, haven’t been spayed for long enough or haven’t been properly introduced to each other

They are both to young, dasher will be spayed next month and kona is only 7 weeks old. We introduced them in our kitchen, which which is a Nutural place, dasher avoids it sense he can’t get good foot tread in there. We put them on separate sides and let them approach each other. Kona, the younger went to smell dasher, and the older. Dasher smelt kona and then instantly went for the mount and hump.

Since they are both too young, best to separate, especially if mounting is the first reaction. Bad air between them, like aggression and bullying, can really stress a relationship and prevent bonds, in addition to making one or both rabbits depressed.

I don’t remember if Dasher is free roam, but typically I believe people who have rabbits who cannot bond yet set up two x pens that do not touch (so they cannot bite and pull through bars) and take turns with one free roam and one in the pen.

Bonding is a long process, but when done properly, it can make everyone really happy and flourish!

thats what we are going to do, keep them apart. we have hutches that are next to each other so that that they can see each other. the hutches are about four inches apart so they cant bite or get to each other. Dasher is free roam when we are home, sense she has some bad habits we are working on. she gets free roam of the most of the house. we are slowly trying to introduce kona to the house, sense its her first week with us.  When we let out her its always with us very close to her, in case she does something dangerous and she doesn’t get roam of the entire house, just one room.
