Oh yi..   I mashed up some pellets and tried to feed her but was too thick.  I will try again in a bit.

She isn’t accepting banana or papaya so I know she hasn’t eaten much today.  OH yi.  I get so worried.  Her ears were cold again too.  They warmed up when I was trying to syringe feed her.

I added more water.  It should go into the syringe now. I got more on her than in her mouth.  Oh dear Ruby

I checked her incision and it looks good.  AND her hair is already starting to grow back.  Whoohooo.

BT run out to a pharmacy or grocery store and grab some baby canned pumpkin and some pedialyte(grape flavoured is the favorite here) and you can syringe feed those very easily. In fact she might just gobble the canned pumpkin as is.

{{ RUBY }} Please keep us posted!

I will see tomorrow if she hasn’t eaten still I will go get some babyfood for her.

I tried to feed her again and she swallowed some.  She let some dribble on her face too.  She worked at licking some of it off.  Tomorrow she will stay in her house.  I had her out for a long time today and maybe she hurt herself when I was napping. Maybe thats why she won’t eat she doesn’t feel well.

I thought mushed pellets would help settle her tummy if that is what was bothering her.  I am going to put 2 blueberries in there tonite and see if she eats that tomorrow morning.

It is 9:30 ;pm  here.  She definitely ate some yesterday.  Her hay mostly. Haven’t heard any tooth grinding and she seems to know she is cared for.  I talk to her real soft and pet her b4 I put her in her house.  Her house is covered up and her ears are still warm.

Cotton is going to have to go it alone tomorrow.

She ate the blueberries I put her a total of 3 after I saw her eat the first one.  I find once I syringe feed her she eats a little while later. OH goodness i will be glad when this is over and she is back to normal. I am going to have gray hair I already have 5.  I am not ready for more right now.

                  Hi, BT,

How is she doing this morning? Has she eaten any breakfast yet?

How is she this morning? I would keep her confined for a few more days so you can really monitor her and she can get recover.

She ate this morning.  All her blueberries were gone too..   She drank all her water too.  I hate to just leave her in her house but can’t be helped. Poor girl.  She licked all the mushed pellets off her face from last nites syringe feeling. She is resting quietly now. Cotton sitting on top of her house.  I have a towel up there for  him to get comfy on and not let  his feet fall through. He misses her he was hanging out by her last ntie and this morning.

Sound like she is getting back to normal. I would try offering her some of her favorite greens.

Poor Ruby, I kept thinking last night how she was doing. Glad she ate the blueberries, maybe she was hurting and didn’t want to eat.

                            Keep us posted…Poor Ruby!

She is doing better today.  No syringe feeding.  She ate a good bit of pellets.  I put her some greens and some hay that came in bb order today.  She munched on all that.

I have her out after leaving her in her house all day. The hair is growing back real quick. I won’t let her out for too long.  She is shedding too so I combed her.

cotton misses being with her.  HE stays near her house. He ran up to groom her when I put her down.  I left her out all day yesterday so she may have overdone something and hurted.   tomorrow she stays in her house most of the day too.

Her incision looks good. The hair on her back that I cut a while back is growing out too.  She is getting prettier.

I am so relieved she is eating again.   Cotton is eating up his Oxbow pellets too.  Thats what I gave him this morning. Ruby gets the usual.  It is more important she eat right now.  Besides switching her now might not be good due to all the stress she has been through.   I am happier today too.  She is doing better.  phew.

Sounds like she’s out of the woods. Glad she’s better. So different for Cotton to be worried about another bunny in the house. I think he loves her now.

How on earth do you keep Ruby clean and combed post-surgery?  At a recent well-care visit, my vet had told me how many people get the super fluffy angora type bunnies and then don’t realize all the work that goes into them.  I know when I have to force feed my beasts and give meds the become a crusty/ dusty mess.  I can’t imagine w/ such a fluffer butter like Ruby?????

I find a comb.  A pet comb with a handle.  The tines are kind of close together.  I find this works the best for the tangles.   Then I do the bun slicker brush.  I have to hold up the outter layer of hair and comb the bottom layer. Then I do the top layer.

I love combing her.  An angora needs a good brushing everyday I think.  Though with Ruby I can skip a day but she has more tangles if I do.

She is doing so good today.  She was looking for her food this morning.  She ate all her lettuce.  She is taking it easy right now

It was so cute Cotton would go lie by her cage.  I moved her to the living room so they could be closer.  I tried to get a pic of course Cotton had to get up then.

Thanks for the vibes and suggestions.  They sure helped.

As far as her face  yes it did get green from the syringe feeding.  She licked some of it off and I suppose Cotton got the rest.

I was just on photobucket and wow the pics are clear with this new comp screen wow.  Boy was I a couple years behind.

Wow, she must be a patient bun to let you groom her everyday. They all sound like such sweet, funny, character filled buns! It’s great that she’s eating properly again.

Did you get a new computer? Or a new screen? It makes a huge difference doesn’t it! When we got out new computer, it was like “wow, the detail!” lol.

a new screen.  and wow is it clear.  I just graduated from teh dark ages lol.  My eyes have to get used to flat screen now. It is just too clear I can’t take it anymore hehee.

OH hubby and I had gone to Best Buy to see all the things we can’t afford.  He likes to go sit and watch the movies on the big screen tv’s there. they have a couch and he just gets all comfy and watches.  It is hard for me to keep up with the HD big screen movies. Just too clear and too big. Moves too fast too. He was watchign transformers and I told the tv slow down I can’t keep up.  Trying to see all the Hi Def stuff and it moved so fast I couldn’t get it.

Ah Ruby I just combed her out.  I haven’t groomed her underside but I did check the incision.  She is healing right along and that hair is just a growing. Phew. She is shedding after her groom I hold her    and had long hair stuck all over me from her underside that I can’t get to right now.

She is a very calm little girl.  Good breeding.  You just dont’ find them like that in pet stores. She was a calm baby too.    Her and Cotton were lounging and I came and petted them both.  Ruby even did tooth purrs.  Why is it after their surgeries they start tooth purrs?   Laith was the same way.    I guess since I baby them after their surgery they come to understand I care and am safe to be around. I talked so soft to her and was real gentle petting her too. So I guess she came around. Even her poo are almost normal today. She was eating hay and I got them some greens again.

HB is in the kitchen.  He knows too when to come and beg.  Ohhh he is a beggar. I got those greens out and here he came.   Any time I go to the sink here he comes.  HE likes to stay at the door too.  I went outside and when I came back in I opened the door and he came around to look out the screen door.  I had to scoot him back into the house to shut the door.   Big rascal.

Also I don’t see pee markers at the xpen anymore either.  Just poo now. Thats better. Hopefully the poo will stop too.  Seems they are getting used to seeing HB nearby.

As far as keeping Ruby’s bottom clean I have always trimmed the long hair around her bum.  Helps keep the cecals and pee from sticking and staining. Well off I go to enjoy the buns again.  Even Cotton was really liking me to pet him today. He jumped on me last nite and dug on my shirt a little bit.  Long time since he has done that. I think cause hubby is on the couch and when Cotton jumps up there he scares hubby. Hubby jumps and goes ahhh and scares Cotton.  They scare each other.lol.

I think he is coming home SAturday.    It just worked out that he stayed away longer. As her hair is growing in very quickly.  And she is eating and doing much better.  By this weekend I can leave her out like normal.  She did good today too.  I let her out.  Her and Cotton lie together then after a bit they go lie down in seperate spots the rest of the day.   Ruby did a binky this morning. She likes to jump straight up into the air like a popcorn. so she must be feeling lots better.  She rested the rest of today.
