New to the forum so hi!

I’ve had my girl for 4 years now, she’s now 5 1/2 years old.

I noticed last night she was quiet, she actually sat out in the hall all evening until I went to bed then went under the sofa and stayed there (didn’t eat or drink, not sure about litter tray).

In the morning she was still quiet, hadn’t eaten, hadn’t even touched her favourite kale.

Got her to vets for 3pm, by then she’d eaten a tiny bit of kale and one treat. She said that there was very little gastro noise so she was really concerned. She wanted to keep her in for 24 hours but as she was petrified being at the vets and her heart rate was worryingly high (she doesn’t deal with stress well) so I decided to go with the second option of giving her anti inflammatory injection, gastro injection and syringing her recovery food and water every two hours at home with a follow up tomorrow evening.

Got her home (about 4pm), managed to get about 2/3 syringe of food in her. She also are one treat so I was hopeful! At 7 I tried feeding her and water again and she just point blank refused it. She now won’t eat anything. She’s not drank anything since at least 1pm (when I got home), and she’s just sat quietly under the sofa all night.

I’ve tried kale, apple, carrot, her muesli mashed with warm water and a bit of mint but she’s not even curious by it.

Please has anyone any suggestions?! She’s a fussy rabbit to start with but I’m at a loss and now the vets are closed I don’t know what to do!

Did I make the wrong decision in bringing her home?!

Hi there, sorry your bun is poorly

Continued treatment at home is usually necessary with stasis, did they give you pain and motility medication to continue at home?

Keep up with the syringe feeding, even if she doesn’t want it, as I’m guessing the vet determined that she didn’t have a blockage? It’s very important to keep getting food into her at regular intervals. Usually 3 times per day is recommended for buns that are not eating at all. Every 2 hours seems like a lot. You can also give her tummy rubs to try to get things moving.

I wouldn’t offer too many sugary or starchy things. Keep offering greens (cilantro is often great at triggering buns to eat). Fennel is also a good one and can help with tummy upsets.

Hi, I would start with feeding her critical care food at the least until you can get her to the vet. That should at least help gett fluids and food in her system. You’ll most likely have to syringe feed her. Its a messy process but it will help I promise. I wish you the best of luck. And you can bring her to get asap if she is still not doing good
