My 2 year old rabbit has been acting completely normal all day, he has been eating and going to the bathroom as he regularly does. About an hour or two ago I noticed he was acting weird, sitting hunched up in the corner. He seems responsive as he normally is, and once in a while he will groom himself in this position, but his belly feels firmer than usual. He is still eating, and just a few minutes ago he hopped around like normal and ate some hay before going back to sitting hunched up. Any advice on what could be going on/ what I should do? I’m freaking out a little bit.

The self-grooming and coming out to eat all sound like positive behaviours. Does he not normally sleep in a bunny loaf position?

He varies between sleeping in a loaf and sprawled out, but he was sitting hunched up like he had gas pain, but was still eating and drinking. He is laying sprawled out now, but I’m mostly worried about how firm his stomach feels.

He could be having some gas, as you suspect. You can give him a tummy rub and try giving simethicone (baby gas drops). That will often do the trick.

Also try to make him move around a bit. It often helps the tummy!
