The more votes they get the more chance they will have of winning, you can vote once a day for as long as the contest runs.

I entered a photo of Lassen and Denali into the PetSource spring photo contest.  If I win, The Rabbit Haven will get $1000.  If you have a few minutes, can you vote for them?  Right now we have no competition, but I assume other photos will be added as time goes by.

I think someone is using multiple accounts to vote. I mean, afterall, it is $1,000 and all you need to do is manage 20 accounts per day to get it.

Yeah, the dog also has it’s own group working for it. No way it is THAT cute. I’ll have to make a couple more accounts.

Actually, and I”m not suggesting this is the best thing to do, but it seems that there is no verification process in registering.  And, what I mean by that is that you can ‘register’ any name or email addy and you’ll still get to vote.  It doesn’t even need to be a real email address.

I have tried to get other accounts too, but it won’t let me.

My hubby is trying to get us to split our personalities also lol. I think they are on to everyone doing that, we tried and it won’t let us.

I hate to say it, but the dog has now passed them. I have written the website people to see if there’s a way they can monitor the IP addresses. I know that some of us have done the multiple voting thing but even if we had to start over again, I think all of us could put the two cuties back in the lead in no time.

Great idea markus. I have one account and just vote daily and I would not mind if they started all over again. It really seems like something is really fishy with that dog and how the votes for it “jump” every few minutes when I go there to look. Oh well, it all goes to a good cause, right?

Me too but i never created multiple accounts.

I made a new one. I happen to have two laptops at home and a computer, plus a computer at my parents house, plus one at work….they can track IP’s all they want, there will be on alias per computer and I will get five votes a day HAHAHA i win!

Ok, so this might sound dumb but the IP is the computer signature not the internet connection signature right?

hmmm well it let me create a new alias & vote from my desk top comp (i work from my laptop usually) but my other alias’ are still non-existant.  maybe because they were all created from this computer, hence the same IP?  i dunno bout that stuff either k&k.

The IP number is the computer’s address number. However, when you sign up through an IP Service (such as Comcast or AOL), they assign your computer the IP number based upon their network. So, technically, they could tell that all of the votes are coming from Comcast computers in a certain area however to block them all would be bad.

I’ll try the multiple account thing when I get home, if not, then I’ll just stick with one per computer.

Lisa I exerienced the same thing and now I went to vote and not only could I NOT sort by most votes, the number of votes is gone that each picture has. I still voted though. I agree that something is super odd with the voting on that dog.  I mean what is really the likelihood that 21 people are voting at the same time?

i saw that!  and of course you can no longer sort by ‘most votes’ either.  hmmm.  but i did notice after my votes that the buns jumped to be first.  i wonder if that happens regardless of number of votes or if it’s a left-over thing from the earlier set-up?  hopefully the antics haven’t hurt osprey’s chances if he *does* end up with the most votes!  we’ve been neck in neck, so as long as we all keep voting he’s got a good chance

i still can only vote twice / day… one for each computer.  but i really think that the buns may be in the lead now!  after my vote is cast is re-orders the eligible pics so that the buns are first in line and then the 2 dogs that were neck in neck while the counter was showing.

I believe, without any proof, that after you vote, the position of the photos is the current ranking. So, as of my vote this morning, the buns are in the lead.
