          Hi miles,

Welcome to the forum! We are still under construction so you may not get as many responses as normal. I’m sorry your bunny is unwell. How is he doing now?

Most important is to keep him eating and pooping. Keep offering him greens and hay, and favorite things to keep his spirits up.

I’m glad to hear he is doing better. Is more than one leg affected? Which legs are affected? Bunnies can get sprains just like humans, but they can of course also break their legs, or, if both back legs are affected, there could be an injury to the lower back. Is he pooping and peeing like normal? Please describe his leg troubles more in detail!

Hi there, sorry to hear your bunny has a hurt paw. With the understanding of what is going on in the world right now, are veterinarians in the Phillipines considered essential services? If so, they may be open for you to drop off your bunny for an exam while you wait outside or inside but away from the staff.

They may be able to prescribe you some pain meds so the fracture/sprain can heal without bothering your sweet bunny.

Is his leg all limp? If so, it could be broken and need a splint. Hopefully it is just a sprain that will heal of it’s own. Is he still eating and pooping like he should?

That must be so stressful, sorry you are dealing with that. 🙁 I’m glad he’s eating and pooping normally. If you haven’t already, you might restrict his space (esp no jumping up and down off of things) and make sure he can get in and out of his litter box easily.

Hi Dana.. it’s so stressful for me, for what happened  to my bunny. I cant literally sleep at night because I’m monitoring him..Now I’m happy that he was eating and pooping normally. I’m just observing his back leg now if there are some improvements.

I’m glad your bunny is improving! It can take a while for a sprain to heal, 2 weeks is not uncommon. A human would probably get one of those big boots, but rabbits are not very accepting of casts and splints, so it’s often best to leave things be. The important thing is that he eats, drinks , goes potty and can wash himself. Hopefully by now you are seeing even more progress.
