Hello,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a lot of hope. My bunny, Guddu, is suffering from a serious and painful dental abscess caused by pre-molar overgrowth. We had to do urgent abscess drainage surgery because her tooth was dangerously close to piercing through her jaw and skin. Unfortunately, full root or tooth removal isn’t available in my country (Bangladesh), so the underlying issue remains.
We’ve been dressing the wound for over a month now. After finishing a course of antibiotics, the infection came back just a week later. The vet had to perform a second surgery due to recurring infection. Now, after another month of care, thick, white, smelly discharge is oozing from the wound again. My vet says it’s another likely infection, possibly involving the jawbone. We’re stuck in a heartbreaking cycle where nothing seems to be enough.
I’ve been doing everything I can—regular wound care, antibiotics, follow-ups—but the costs are becoming very difficult for me to manage as a student. These repeated surgeries and treatments are quickly adding up, and I’m afraid I won’t be able to keep up financially.
I’m looking for any guidance, advice, or support—whether it’s suggestions for treatment without full tooth extraction, ideas for long-term management, or affordable alternative care. If there’s anyone here who could offer help or resources, I would be so deeply grateful. My bunny means the world to me, and I want to give her a chance at a pain-free life.
