Guys, help me flag this video and GET IT REMOVED!! I first saw it a week ago and flagged it, but YouTube has not removed it yet. I cannot BELIEVE that it has been up for nearly 5 months and no one else has flagged or even commented on it besides me.

Especially given that the way I found it was through clicking on the ‘related videos’ links on loving house rabbit videos.

I boycotted YouTube about a year ago because of similar videos of people torturing rabbits YouTube refused to remove at the repeated requests of several rabbit activist organizations.

Make a stand, Boycott them!!!!! And let them know you are doing this!

There would be total uproar if it was a dog or cat.  Perhaps we should put an animated version of a pet dog/cat being tortured/killed.  I wonder if this would be considered ok.

Surely youtube have policy as to what can be put on their website … I personally feel the complete site should not have been given rights or such to exist at all.  Its just a place for sickos to act out their vile and disgusting self of a so called human being!

I have not watched the video myself and from the comments here I am glad I have not … however, I prefer not to visit youtube fullstop and I have banned my daughter from logging on there too.

I’ve tracked down many losers from another forum I moderated.  Many people use the same name on many forums.  Seems that this loser says he’s 30 years old on his YouTube page.  Sadly, there’s not much even on a Google search for his YouTube screen name.

That is such a huge problem with Youtube. I tried to flag it but I guess I don’t subscribe – I thought I had.

It does look like he’s gotten some comments of disgust but he probably gets off on those.

Just thought I would add this. About 6 months or so ago, I read an article that two men (not sure where but I think it was the US) posted a video of them torturing and beheading a pet rabbit and they were caught and charged for cruelty to animals. There was no info on how they got caught but someone who knew them saw the video on YouTube and reported it.

Again, I urge you all to boycott YouTube. There has been too much of this sick stuff on there. I was outraged and officially boycotted YouTube when I learned of several videos of kids feeding rabbits to snakes while taunting and torturing them were not removed as YouTube did not consider them animal abuse.

And it’s not just rabbits, what about that soldier overseas who threw the puppy off a cliff? There’s enough sickos in the world lets not create an outlet for them to showcase their illness

LPT – I totally agree about boycotting Youtube. It seems there are all kinds of violations allowed on this website.

Even though it’s not “illegal” it’s not moral and it seems to just encourage this type of behavior. I just don’t understand how they can justify even if it’s free speech or whatever that it is okay to allow this. Cruelty to animals is illegal just like child pornography and they don’t allow that on the internet.

I do think that their are positive things about these websites too however and that’s what they should be encouraging with these websites.

There are a lot of whackos and trolls out there, unfortunately.  The flip side of the whole YouTube debate is that it is becoming more and more important for rescue organizations and animal welfare in general.  We put videos about adoptables and rabbit care up on YouTube, and there are lots and lots of videos of rabbits binkying and zooming and just being rabbits on there.  There are also very depressing videos of what the inside of shelter is like, what a euthanasia is like, etc., that I think it is important for people to know about.

I allow comments on my videos, but I watch them very closely.  I get a few inappropriate comments about what stupid pets bunnies are, how they should be snake food, etc.  I just delete those and ban the users from commenting further.  There is an alternative called PetVideo that is run by PetFinder.  There are a lot fewer trolls there, but a much more limited audience.

If you look at the ‘statistics and data’ for the video, it says it was linked from THIS myspace page 18 times:

It says he lives in Big Bear, CA so you would need to find someone out there to help. I wonder if they have a humane society or something. You would have to be careful though that he doesn’t catch on and pull the video which is the only evidence you have.

I’ve…already got a ‘BBB’ folder going on my computer and have downloaded the video to it along with a bunch of his MySpace pictures. I’m about to HyperCam everything on his MySpace and YouTube right now.

I wonder too since it’s a wild rabbit if the Parks and Wildlife should be notified – I don’t think there is an actual hunting season for rabbits though and I only mention hunting because of another story I heard concerning ducks and cruelty. I’ll see if I can find anything on California Parks & Wildlife on who to notify.

Here is the contact information for California Department of Fish and Game – I think it’s worth contacting them to see what they say or if they can steer you to someone who they think might help.  This is a wild rabbit and there regulations do say something about cottontails but I’m not certain where this would fall or anything – it’s a place to start.

Well, I got the whole thing on video now. The YouTube video -his description of it and its category placement, the statistics and data leading to his myspace page, his myspace page, comments on his myspace page regarding the video (which are equally appalling..), and his photos.

What makes the whole thing better is that his MySpace address is a first and last name…so we have a possible full name. o.O Idiot..

Wow! I missed a whole morning of fun. That’s definitely the guy – same birthmark on the left cheek. Glad I didn’t post about that other guy prematurely. I would HIGHLY recommend to everyone to NOT contact him personally or directly in any way. No comments on his page, no e-mails, NOTHING that will tip the hand and possibly spoil a case against him. This thread is enough already. Simply save everything, report everything to the authorities (ALL OF THEM) and let them handle it. Don’t give him a reason to make it personal with you. Though it is an emotional issue for many of us, this isn’t personal, it’s just “business”.

And I wholeheartedly I agree with WascawyWabbit – use the information you have received ONLY to contact the authorities. Do not contact this person directly.  Some people that are like this with animals can be freaks all around and hurt people too.

The thread alone, because his name is in the the thread, will be able to be searched easily enough. In few days, someone can just type in his name, and the search engines will direct to this thread.    SO, since you all have an edit mode, I would suggest that if you used his name, you just put in BBB asap.

Google may still direct  back to this for a few days until the search has been refreshed to BBB. Make sense?

The one thing I do worry about though is that we don’t know where it happened or when which is what officials will probably want to know. So don’t be disappointed if they really cannot do anything.

YAY! I think Youtube must have removed it LPT because at the top it says it was removed for terms of violation or something in a red bar across the top.

I guess they must have to review quite a few videos each day which are flagged which is why it took them awhile to get it down.

i hope i never catch someone actually doing something harmful to an animal, because (im a pretty big girl at 6ft and i weight train so i can pack a pretty good punch!) i would do the exact same thing to them, its the only thing in the world that really makes me see red, the kinda thing that i couldnt even stop myself. I do everything i can to help but i would rather not know what i am helping for? I also hate vets who put animals down because the owner says ‘oh he is stupid or lazy or i just cant be bothered’ the vet i take the dogs to personally rehomes any animal which is brought in by an owner who doesnt want him/her rather than just putting it to sleep. Im glad the video was removed lets hope Binkles can get somewhere with reporting this!

I’ve been reading this thread and am very interested in what ends up happening! This guy did something bad and the thing is, if he thought to videotape it, he obviously has done it before. If there’s any help I can lend to getting the authorities involved, let me know. Seems as though everybody has done some great (and impressive) detective work though!
