        Hi
I might be panicking over nothing but I want to be sure!
I have guests coming over tonight and as I keep the bunnies in the lounge I thought I’d make sure everything smells fresh, the rabbits themselves don’t smell but I’ve had family members complain about the smell of strong hay before.
The rabbits usually lie on a rug under the coffee table for hours during the day so I thought I’d give their cage area a quick sprites with freebrez while they are ‘out of the house’ for the day as it will settle by the time they go back in. I double checked they were under the the table thinking I saw them both but it was only Glenn, as you can probably guess whats coming I accidentally spritzed Maggie with the febreeze liquid air freshener she was hiding so well I didn’t see her till she thumped and ran! I feel absolutely terrible! she took some cuddles from me but is freaked out and won’t take treats.

Is this anything I need to be concerned about? Is this really dangerous for them or just a stupid thing I should avoid doing again?

I’ve never sprayed their pen before so I don’t know what made me think it would be okay, I just thought as they wouldn’t be using it for hours a little sprizt away from any hay and water would be fine, but clearly this has backfired

I would just monitor for any eye irritation or different behavior! It’s always good to be on guard when something odd has happened, but I can’t imagine a small amount would be extremely toxic. If there is any portion that’s damp, perhaps blotching it out with a warm, damp towel so it cannot be ingested during grooming later?

            Thanks for the reassurance!
It’s difficult to know how concerned to be when very random uncommon things like this happen.
Her behaviour and eyes seem normal/fine but still won’t take a treat yet so I will keep an eye on her to make sure it’s not cause she’s feeling unwell!
