So today i learned Lily is scared of plastic bags. So they are in separate x pens next to each other for play time today. I walk inside and grab a plastic bag filled with cilantro. I walked outside and they both panicked but Cocoa saw food sticking out of the bag and immediately calmed down and started trying to get to the food. Lily would not calm down and was panicking so i put the bag of cilantro away and tried to calm her down. I gave each bunny some cilantro and after a minute Lily ate hers. I will try to not have anything in a plastic bag but if something blows over the fence or I forget, I don’t want her to panic. What can i do to help her get over this fear?

I’d plop a plastic bag or a piece of it in her pen and let her interact with it so she knows the source of the noise. It’s the uncertainty that’s scary generally

I tried that and she was still terrified. I also tried it while feeding her pellets and veggies and it didn’t work. Cocoa will eat cilantro right out of the bag even if it’s blowing in her face

Generally my buns get excited when they hear a plastic bag because usually it means they get their salad or a treat. BB8 used to be afraid of plastic bags but after hearing them/seeing them so often he’s no longer afraid. Best of luck with Lily

Should I try the peice or plastic in her cage? I don’t want to stress her out too much because I know that can kill them. What do y’all think?

I would just put the plastic bag near her, and give her a treat. Positive association and all that.

Okay I will try that. What if she won’t take the treats? How far away should it be? Should I make it where it can’t flap around at all or where it moves a little?

Just hold the bag in one hand. Show her it then give her the treat.
