My 11wk old bunnies ran out of pellets/hay yestarday afternoon. It was too late to go out then Today there was an drive thougj shooting a few blocks down from my house, which was blocking anyone from entering or exiting the neigborhood. It is again too late to go out again. My mom said she will go and get them food tommrow morning. But i am scared they will go into GI STASIS. They have water, toys, carboard to chew on, but will they last until tommorow morning?

It is very important that they have food, especially at their age… and since it has now been over 24 hours if I read that correctly. Rabbits can develop a build up of toxins in their liver if they don’t eat for more than 12 hours, and bunnies that young could starve. Not sure where you are or what time it is where you are, but they really need food ASAP.

They need something right away. Do you have any greens? Is there grass outside you can pick for them? Bunnies that young really aren’t supposed to be eating much greens but it’s better than stasis. They have to have at least hay available at all times and this could cause them to become very sick.

<p style=”padding-left: 40px;”>I have romaine lettuce! The stores near me close in a few minutes, I wont be able to make it in time. They are chewing on romaine. I take them out a few times during the day to get excercise, and right now they are junping & doing binky’s like usually! I think they will do fine until tommorow morning. I will moniter them, to make sure they are okay.</p>

How are your bunnies doing now? Have you been able to get them hay?

I just came here to ask about the bunnies too! Please let your mom know that if you have a farm supply store in your area you can probably get a huge amount of hay really cheap so you don’t have to constantly worry about restocking.
