Ok so our bunny is almost 1 soon – spayed female. She has always done pretty well and been a good eater. Lately about the last month – we have been having very messy wet stools on and off – stuck to her butt. I havn’t done anything different but she is not eating as much either. She is a very picky eater and doesn’t like much and I am holding back greens as often because that seems to make it worse. I have tried – parsley, carrots, raisons, cucumbers, red cabbage, apples, pellets, pears, and hay. She only likes cucumbers, parsley (which seems to make it worse) and apples and carrots but even her favorites are sitting in her cage untouched. She IS eating but not as much. She eats hay daily but I do have a hard time getting her to eat pellets. She only likes the junk food pellets. But I have decided next bag is only going to be the healthy kind and she will have to deal with it.
It is disapointing because she is making a mess everywhere and still doesn’t like us much.
PS – do bunnies like to sleep most of the day? She plays a lot at night. Should I just feed her the fresh foods at night and leave hay and pellets available during the day?
I was starting to look for a new home for her because I am 8 months pregnant and really having a hard time cleaning up after her. She is such a good girl but feeling like we might have our hands full. She used to be really good litter trained to but since the wetness it gets everywhere.
I need some advice.
