Hi I found BinkyBunny in my search for treats and hay for my bunnies.  I was very excited when I saw this forum.  Now I know where to go when I have bunny questions!  I’m one of those people that takes a thousand pictures of their babies.  I don’t have kids so I have hundreds of pictures of my bunnies.  and they’re only 1 years old!.  They probably think I’m nuts every time I whip out the camera.  I attached a few pictures (don’t worry I won’t bore you with ALL of them lol).  They seem to enjoy posing for the camera.  Mostly Luna, but I think that’s cuz she thinks she’s royalty.  All she needs is a crown and a sceptor.  Nova is a quiet little boy who is very loyal to his mate.  He cleans her and snuggles with her at night.  Ok I won’t bore you with my ramblings.  Here are the pics:

        1. a current pic of the bunnies sharing a meal

        2. recent pic of the bunnies lounging

3 and 4 are baby pictures from when they first came home.

thanks for stopping by! Happy Holidays!

!! I totally agree, that last pic is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!

Welcome to Binky Bunny by the way – glad you joined You can totally tell in pic #2 how Lunda thinks she is a queen. How did you end up first deciding to have rabbits? And how did you first learn about having indoor rabbits?

welcome!! what seriously cute bunnies, the bottom pic is about the cutest thing ever.

ps the pellet blends with fruits, nuts, etc are really not good for bunnies. 🙁

wow, i didn’t expect such quick (and pleasant!) replies!  Hello all and thank you!

yeah i want to get them off the pellets.  that’s what they came home eating.  and I can’t find something they won’t turn their noses at.  i’m not so great at reading nutrition labels though.  any suggestions on a good bunny pellet food (preferably available at a pet store)?

to answer moobunnay’s questions:  It all started when I met my boyfriend 5 years ago.  He is a bunny lover even more than me.  I worked at a small pet store with very good people.  My boyfriend talked about wanting a rabbit, so I helped him get a white mini-lop. I can’t find my pics but if I do find em I’ll post em.  She’s a great bunny named Bunchi.  She decided my boyfriend belonged to HER. But we worked it out.  Anyway, my boyfriend recently went out to California so now she lives with a family who has a daughter who absolutely loves Bunchi.  She is doing well and is quite comfortable.  Last November, I decided I wanted to become a bunny owner (my boyfriend was very encouraging =P).  I didn’t work at the petstore anymore but I knew the manager so I asked her to help me find new bunny friends.  I read that bunnies get lonely easily, so I wanted 2 so they would have each other when I wasn’t home.  She found me Luna and Nova.  And the rest is history..  I will be adding more bunnies in the future but I am definitely looking into adopting a rescue.

I love my two little buns and hope to have many more in the future. When I retire I am going to have a bunny managerie. LOL

Hi and welcome! Let me tell you that this website is the best! There are so many caring people and they can answer any question you may have. I’m about 2 months new to it and I just spend hours looking at all the interesting forums and links. I have been buying my hay from the store here and it is the best!!! Pesticide free and carefully stored. Good luck!

Welcome Starlitif!    Your bunnies are so cute!  As far as the pellets go, since your bunnies are still young, you should find an alfalfa based ellet (wean them off of that to Timothy based) when they reach 7 months or so.  Oxbow and American Pet Diner offer healthy selections.  Should be high in fiber 18 % minimum, but with alfalfa they will be a bit higher in fat and calcium, but once they reach a year – this is the guideline to follow

                              Recommended Nutrional Value:

                              • Fiber 18% minimum (20 -25% best and this also goes for alfalfa based)
                              • Fat 1 – 2% max,
                              • Protein 12 – 14% max (long-haired breeds,angoras, need higher)
                              • Calcium 1% max

I know via your profile that only one of your bunnies is altered.   Is your other bunny exhibiting any behaviorial changes yet?
