Yikes that is hot, you may want to consider buying a small room air-conditioner. I just bought a new one over the weekend that is more energy efficient and so it is not so expensive to run. The heat is definately too much for your fella without A/C and I am not sure a big fan will be all that effective but you can try that as well as the frozen water bottle. Make sure the fan blows over the bottle and as it does, you have a mini evaporative cooler. (Secure the frozen bottle with zip ties and voila!)

I already have an air but it’s not in the office (where my bun is) so we now have a fan there.

With a fan – make sure that the fan does not blow directly on the bunny all the time as I’ve heard thats not good for them. I generally use a rotating fan, however, this only worked for me in up to about 95 degree heat – how hot does it get in the room where the bunny is? If it goes much over 90 I’d highly recommend moving the bunny into a room with air conditioning because bunnies can get heat stroke.

When we were in the classroom….the tile floors were a saving grace for our rabbits.  They could sprawl out on the cool ground when needing a break.  We also put ice cubes in their water bottles.  You can now get ice cube trays for water bottles.  I’ve seen them at Ikea & CVS.  They’ve become much more common w/ people using water bottles all the time.  We also used to put little gel freezer packs in their cages, so they could have a chill spot.  I tend to use the air conditioner at home when it gets really toasty.  I would say that I run it pretty low during the day in summer, just as a bit of a refresher for them.

cool! I gotta tell my dad all of your suggestions. They will be a great help for him when I’m gone on a trip. I’ve assigned “bunny business” for him and he needs to know a lot of things.
