I am in desperate need of some assistance. I went into work for a few hours this afternoon and when I came home she was having Body Rolls. About an hour later she was tilting her head all the way back and is acting very strange just laying in my hand won’t really move still breathing good, I don’t know what to do. I bottle-fed this baby bunny since she was less than a week old.

There is nothing you can do for her except keep her comfortable until you can get her to a vet. Head tilt can be caused by an inner ear infection or EC. She needs to see a vet for diagnosis and proper treatment. I know a lot of vets are only doing emergencies. I think this qualifies as an emergency.

To keep her from rolling, you can use a rolled up blanket or towel to make a “bumper” for her to lie against.

I’ve been bottle feeding her since she was approximately 2 or 3 days old

She is gone now. My heart is broken she was doing so good. She was going to the bathroom eating like a champ, she would come to me for real. I would put my hand in one side of her cage and she would hop in my hand… so eager for me to hold her. She opened her eyes for the first time in my hands. I am devastated. I just want to know what I could have done wrong. I thought I was taking really good care of her.

I’m so sorry for your loss  🙁

It’s so hard to know with such a wee baby what could have gone wrong, please don’t beat yourself up over it.

I’m so sorry for your loss. That must be very hard. 🙁  Baby bunnies can be very fragile. Sounds like you loved her and did the best you could.  ((((Binky Free Baby)))))

When I initially replied, I did not realize this was a 10 day old baby bunny. I must have missed that somewhere. I’m so sorry for you loss. It sounds like you were doing you best to hand raise this baby. Unfortunately, you had a lot of things working against you since babies are extremely difficult to hand raise. So many things can go wrong and they do not thrive. I agree with Dana, please don’t beat yourself up. You tried your best and that’s all you could have done.

Oh, so young! Sleep tight, little one.

They are notoriously difficult to raise on the bottle. I wouldnt think it was anything you did. I know it’s still so upsetting when they dont make it after you’ve invested so much time and care into them. x
