I have noticed that when i call moreland or anything he comes at me with a little head shake kind of like a dog shaking water off then walks up. his ears are clean as a whistle is this normal or should i worry when he shakes his head. he was at the vet no less than a month ago and she checked his ears as normal.   he doesnt sit there shaking it for a long time he just sort of shakes it back and forth and walks towars me.  he does itch every now and then too but i think that is normal? i do flea treat him since i have indoor out door pets and even though they are treated fleas always make it in some how.

That is really a partial binky type thing – at least that is what it sounds like to me.

Oh my gosh…this thread just answered a big question of mine. I am a new bunny mommy, and I had NO idea what my Luna was doing…she runs and shakes her head. I read all these horror stories about head shaking as being a sign of ear infection, and I was freaked out!!! But it turns out…she’s just happy.  She doesn’t do it all the time…just when she’s running or playing.  She’s very serious about eating!!!!

I am so grateful for this forum. I was almost ready to push a doctor visit on Luna. We’ve only had her a week, so I was NOT at all happy about doing something like that to her before she was fully acclimated to us.

Awe Jen! Sounds like a Binky-Zoom mix. Jack does just a binky head shake sometimes when he’s about to eat or get a treat. Sounds like your bunny is settling in and happy – hence: Signs of Binkies! Congrats! And welcome to BINKYbunny.

Haha, Dylan’s ears are so huge and floppy, when he does the ‘head shake binky’ they flap about like sheets in the wind! It’s the most ridiculous thing ever, and he looks so pleased with himself too!

Coco does this much more than Jackson – like the shiver of excitement without the leap!

I always get head binkies when I wake up and come into the bunny room… Sometimes I think they’re more excited to see me than my human family is… lol.

I love to watch Cotton wag his tail and wiggle his behind when he does a partial binky.   He looks so playful doing that

Fiver is a head shake pro. He gives about five or ten of these every time I approach the cage for a cleaning, or bring food. And he wags his tail too…so funny on a bunny! xD

awww the shaky binkies are amazing. when max does it, he stands up on his hind legs and does a whole body shake, usually followed by a little sideways hop!

and to the new bunny owners, welcome to slavedom you’re gonna love it!
