I thought all rabbits did this.   I notice Cotton bobs his head a lot then looks to this side and that side bobbing his head.  HE does this when exploring something ,  looking at something or when I am holding him.

Do other rabbits do this?   Is he trying to see better and judge distance when doing this?  Why would a rabbit do this?

yeah, it’s called scanning. it’s so they can see better. it’s more common in albino buns i believe but most buns will do it, some more than others.

I’d really noticed that lionheads do it alot, maybe they have worse vision or maybe it’s all the fuzz blocking their view?

K&K thats funny.  Nora and Ruby don’t do it at all.  I was so taken back that they didn’t.  I was so used to Cotton doing it.

Cotton does have more hair around his eyes than Ruby.  Maybe thats why oh and his eyes are blue too.  Ruby’s are red.

              Thanks.

Radar does it all the time when something is new. she’s really unsure of things and very shy. Josefina doesn’t do it at all and runs straight into a situation so maybe it’s a confidence thing.

Curly Sue does not do this at all. DJ bobs up and down when you are holding him up off the ground, almost like he is trying to gauge how high up he is. Deanna, who is a REW and has only one eye scans side to side, I assume to expand her field of vision.

Good point Erbear-it may be about personality too!! Kahlua is very cautious about things and definitely bobs alot!

Hmm and I thought Cotton was just being agreeable.
