So we were laying on the floor with our little guy last night and he bit off (in a matter of 3 seconds) one of the remote buttons. It was the number 8 and just little but will it hurt him at all? He seems to be hiding out today and eating less but he is eating…should I be worried??

My rabbits always tries to eat the remote buttons and I’m not sure why. I think it just feels nice on their teeth. He swallowed it and was fine. It’s probably not great for him but it could cause a blockage. He might just not be feeling well after eating it. If his appetite doesn’t return I would get it checked out, just to be safe.

My bun just like two days ago ate two buttons off. He always goes for it! I agree keep an eye on his eating drinking and going to the bathroom.

I’m sure he’ll be fine . Just watch him. I have several remote controls missing a few buttons. I wonder who did that…

Welcome to the club.  Some way months ago we had pics of our remotes on here.   Several of us have had to get new ones.

I may be known as the plastic bag lady.  I like superglu krazyglu duct tape and plastic bags for most emergencies.

The ziploc bag is for the remote. Yes I know I am crazy.  rofl…  It has kept our remote safe from little bunny teeth.  Unfortuantely it is a little more difficult to work the control but all in all well worth it.

Bunnies just love those things. They are bunny magnets.

Hopefully your furry friend will resume eating normally it is worth watching out for.  Though I dont’ know of any bunnies who have had major problems from eating the buttons.  You just don’t want to ignore it  just in case.

Thanks everyone! It was pretty funny but I worried a little. He seems to be just fine though, acting normal and eating just fine!  I may try the plastic bag idea!

Oh I forgot to say, we usually put the remotes down face down after she ate some buttons. So all the buttons are down. My rabbit wasn’t able to flip it over so the buttons were safe!

I don’t have any remotes that aren’t missing at least one botton. LOL

Freya has eaten many many many remote buttons. She seems to have been fine afterward. In the time it took me to look over the edge of my desk, realize what she was doing and then go grab the remotes she ate about a dozen buttons off. Since then she’s managed to get about another dozen…. they’re mostly off of the comcast remote that they’ll want back one day. Oops. The other remote missing buttons is to my in-laws television. Not sure yet how I’ll explain that one. I still manage to keep the secret that she keeps eating their carpet lol.

Oh yeah, she also can flip the remotes over. She’s way too smart for me.

Looks like Adelaide is going to have a lot of explaining to do.   lol   yeah I know ooops.

I think I new a new brighthouse remote.  Not cuz the bottons but cause it doesn’t work right.  I have to slap it a few times to get the volume to go up or down.  ARGH.    I am afraid they will charge me for another remote since some buttons are missing but oh well….

Yeah I am pretty sure Cotton would dig at the remote til he flipped it back over to get at the buttons.  He is fast.  I put the remote  down to pet him and if I stop and he sees the remote next to him he makes a dash for it and chews off a botton or so b4 I realize it.

I had to get a new dish remote for my tv since Marshmallow decided she would chew off all the remote but luckily she didn’t eat them just spit them out lol. So now remotes are on top of my tv when either bun is out.
