Hay tea is often advised by Dutch vets for buns who don’t drink enough, especially for those who are ill and recovering. It’s best served in a bowl so your rabbit won’t have to stretch out to reach the bottle.

To my surprise it isn’t very well-known abroad, while it’s so tasty and nutricious… I hope that this will help your beloved buns to drink more and recover sooner!

        Here’s the recipe, with pics:

It’s lovely, isn’t it? I used to brew hay and herbal tisanes for our shelter bunnies to heal or to boost immune system.

OMG how amazing of an idea is this!!! I should mention it to my Vet the next time I”m there (hopefully for just a routine check up! knock on wood lol)

This would be fun to just give as a nice change to their every day water every once in a while too, along with their regular water.

When I saw the name of the thread I thought you meant like hay in our own coffee and tea! Might as well actually because hay and fur always ends up in there lol! This is genius actually. I might use it for my own bun who isn’t feeling the best right now. Thank you!

Rain: LOL Too true! We ingest enough hay and fur to be honorary rabbits.
