We’ve had Jax for a couple of months now and have been feeding him Oxbow hay that is easy to find at most local pet stores. However, I am a huge supporter of growing/eating/buying organic and would love to find an organic hay source. I have tried to find some local sources but most seem to sell in very large bales that I would not be able to store and they mostly seem to be mixes of hay that I do not want to feed him (e.g. grass and alfalfa). So my question is, does anyone know of a website or company where I can find organic hay suitable for an adult rabbit? Even better if you know of any Canadian sources/companies!!!

Oxbow does sell an organic meadow hay. Maybe you’ve already tried that, though. It only comes in 15 oz. bags. I usually get mine from drsfostersmith.com, which is where I get most of my hay and pellets.

Sweet Meadow has good products, including an organic timothy hay: http://www.sweetmeadowfarm.com/animal-food-and-hay/timothy-organic.html

Thanks! Yes I already know about the organic meadow hay. Lately he has been picky about his hay so I like to offer him a variety. Unfortunately it looks like Sweet Meadow Farms does not ship to Canada Anyone know of any place that would ship to Canada?

I’m sorry, I didn’t even check to see if Sweet Meadow Farms shipped to Canada. I did a search and the few places that came up were physical stores in the U.S. that don’t deliver period. There was one website that came up in a search for organic hay, Fuzzies Kingdom, and I saw right on the home page that they do deliver to Canada, but that website is apparently very old. They say that the 2010 crop has sold out, and the 2011 crop will be available soon. I don’t know why the site is even still there, but it’s definitely out of date.  It seems like if they were still in business, that they would have current dates.  I guess you could try to contact them, just to be sure.

I just checked Amazon. They have the Sweet Meadow Farm Organic Timothy, but the most recent reviews were bad. I thought that they were supposed to be a good company. I ordered some hay from them several years ago and it was good. Maybe they have declined in quality. It looks like you get 8 20 oz bags for $55.76. http://www.amazon.com/Swtm-Organic-20Oz-Sweet-Meadow/dp/B000VT3BWY/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1449505635&sr=8-6&keywords=organic+hay

I do see one other brand there, one I’ve never heard of, Grandpa’s Best, certified organic prairie hay. http://www.amazon.com/Grandpas-Best-Certified-Organic-Prairie/dp/B00WMMMHPA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1449505635&sr=8-2&keywords=organic+hay. They only have one review, but it is a 5 star review. It doesn’t state the size, although it lists the shipping weight as 9.5 pounds. It is on sale for $34.83.

There may be some other sites with organic hay that deliver, if you keep searching, or maybe someone here will know of a good place.

Thank you so much for your replies! I never thought to check amazon. Not all companies on amazon ship to Canada but I’m sure I’ll find something! I haven’t had too much luck Googling Canadian organic hay farms for hay suitable for my bun
