My bunny has a room all to herself, so I need something to feed her hay in that doesn’t hook on to anything. Unfortunately, she’s a picky hay eater, and putting it in a litter box doesn’t work because once she even just tramps it down too much she won’t eat it anymore. So I need something else that won’t make a huge mess. Any suggestions? Preferably something inexpensive/DIY and relatively okay looking.

Someone posted a pic last week of an idea I thought was really cool. It was a plastic container with a top, with a round hole made in the top. I’ve also seen the plastic totes with round holes on the side near the bottom. I think both of those had a neat appearance, though there will always be the stray pieces here and there.

Ikea has all sorts of stuff that could be repurposed into a hay rack cheaply.

Lola likes her hay in a tissue box (the longer rectangular ones rather than the square boxes). I just pull out the thin plastic around the opening, and cut a little more out in the center of the opening so her head doesn’t get stuck. She likes to play with it too, pushing it around her pen.
