YOu really don’t need to worry about nutritional stats, just quality and the fact that your bunny will eat it. Alfalfa can be fed to young rabbits and be part of the hay in older rabbits; all other hays are fine!
Are you planning to order online or buy in a local store or from a farm?
Online there are some great options, on sites like binkybunny to buy some really nice hay that you may not be able to find in local stores-different cuts and mixes. They are all great, whats important is choosing what your bunny likes. If your bunny hates orchard grass give it a miss and try brome!
If person buying in a store, your looking for a sweet smelling green hay. Don’t worry about branding-worry about cost and appearance.
And a farm is a great place to buy cheap, a bale costs less than most packages in a store, and is about 100lbs; You’ll want to look for ‘horse hay’ or ‘timothy mix’ etc. Don’t buy a full alfalfa bale and don’t buy cow/livestock hay, the quality is too poor.
