As some of you may or may not know, one of my buns has no front teeth. Usually, what we do is cut up the hay with a knice into small pieces (he refuses to eat it or even try, if they’re long pieces, even though he can munch with his molars) but he’s never been fond of timothy, and never eats very much hay at all.

Anyways, I just ordered Meadow mix to see if it’ll entice him more. But I was wondering, is there other ways to make sure he gets the nutrients and fibre he gets from hay…? And maybe, lol, an easier way to cut it too? >.>

is it the harder stiff stuff he likes or softer hay? If he likes the softer hay, then Orchard may be better. If that is the case I can just switch out the Meadow for Orchard if you’d like. Meadow has a combination – about half soft with orchard and blue, but the rye is stiff.   We also just got in a real soft Timothy from APD.  I can send you a sample.

Email me if you’d like to switch too, so I make sure your order is changed before it goes out.

Lol, maybe I should’ve made this thread before. X_x I already got the order. Heh, it’s okay, my other bunny, on the other hand, seems to love it. I hope he doesn’t stop eating his usual timothy. I got the Meadow one cause it had more of a mix. =/

But he doesn’t seem to care. When he does eat, he seems to go for the leaf-y parts first, then eats the harder stuff after. D= >.< Should've made a post first.  Would a sample cost shipping? X_x Sorry, I'm just a poor uni student.

PS. On the other hand, my other bun is also LOVING his willow ball, lol. Tossing it like there’s no tomorrow.

I’ll just throw in some free samples of the Orchard and New Timothy – no extra cost to your shipping.

Heh, no, I already received the order. Like, it’s in my home right now. X_x

Now that I’m thinking, really, it wouldn’t be possible at this point to get it without shipping. Moving things takes money, heh, especially to Canada. Maybe I can find some other stuff to order. =/ I was going to order the mats, but then I didn’t, and had been regretting it since…

I just checked the store, but it looks like you ordered on the 21st. Your order has already been shipped. But next time, email me and remind me of my offer to send samples with order.

                    Yeah. I will. Thanks ^^

As for now, hopefully he’ll take to it, though. X_x

Keep me updated! It is good if he can get the courser fiber too as though many bunnies love the soft leafier deep green stuff, it’s the courser, less rich green that is higher in fiber, so hopefully he’ll take to both.

I can’t remember the difference between 1st and 2nd cut hays, is one softer than the other? Have you looked into get chaff also?

2nd and 3rd cuts are softer than the first. I like APD’s 2nd cut and sometimes I can get 3rd cut when they have it at KMS hayloft. I do think that Binky Bunnies bale hays are good too because they are cut shorter due to their box configuration which might be helpful too.

Kitchen shears would be the easiest way to cut up hay into smaller pieces.  Kitchen shears are heavy duty scissors that are cleanable and are not expensive.

American Pet Diner 2nd cut timothy is quite soft and leafy. My guys love it. My foster bunny Cali likes it too, but she refuses to eat the normal orchard grass hay that my personal bunnies like. They can be such picky little creatures.
