Does any one have any ideas on a container or somehting for hay.  Currently I feed my buns hay out of the plastic bag as they eat it I roll the plastic down.  I am not conforable with this since the hay is still in the plastic bag.  I used to put it on the floor for them and they didn’t seem to be real interested in it, I think they like to pull it out of someting.  Both buns are free range so a hay bin wouldn’t work since there is nothing to attach it to.

I would even make is some one would tell me how.

You could try a willow basket on the floor, then if they nibble at the basket, its safe for them

Or a store that sells huge plastic containers.

Target and retail stores are selling plastic containers for cheap because of Xmas storage!

Is this question about hay storage or hay holder?

                  Ditto Petzy!

I think you are asking about something for the buns to eat out of? If so you can buy racks to mount, or even just put it in a cardboard box.

Awesome Petzy, I will be emailing my brother and see if he can make this for me. Thank you so much

I got this hay & pellet feeder. I only put hay in it though. http://www.critter-cages.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=497

the cardboard box from a 12 pack of bottled beer (cut laterally across the middle) makes for a nice fashionable hay basket.

This is the solution I came up with.

That is really clever. It takes very simple rabbit supplies most house rabbit owners have: cardboard box, litterbox kit and 1 NIC grid. Fantastic idea. Love it. Can you tell us how you attached the grid?

                                cheyann, you are a genius.

Jerseygirl, are you off to make one?

heh heh! No, but I might when the mood strikes. I won’t for now after my last effort. Rumball has given his opinion on racks and Jersey couldn’t really care less as she doesn’t eat that much. I’ve just noticed this sort of set up would be good for litter boxes in main living areas. Keeps the mess contain and kind of puts it out of sight.

That looks great! We always seem to try to create something big and elaborate, but that’s so simple and effective! AND… if the box gets icky, you can just toss and get a new one!

LOL, Glad I could help out. I was so sick of Minnie digging up hay and thats what I came up with. I just used cable/zip ties to attach the grid.

SWEET, I’m going to go do this right now.

My biggest thing is Snickers pees up and over the side of the litter box so under the litter box always gets yucky from pee, if this works then I can just toss the box every few days until I find a high back litter box.
