So I have had Emily for about 4 months now. I rescued her from the human society she is about 2 years old. She is litter trained and fixed.

Well I thought a few months would help us bond but she still wants nothign to do with me she hides when ever I walk by her pen or try to get her to come out she hides. When I do pick her up to brush her or clip her nails she bites and fights me. She is just living in her pen now doesnt want to come out or be social at all.

I am not sure what to do she just seems so unhappy and scared all the time. She has plenty of toys and tons of room.

What should I do? I wanted a pet to bond with or atleast be able to pet and what not.

        Please help

You need time. She is a very fearful. Sat on the bottom and read a book, talk to her. Don´t try to touch her – let her come to you. My bunnies start to discover me. I do nothing besides talk to them. I always have special food (a little piece of a fruit) which they only get when they come to me. And avoid to take her on your arms.

I had a bunny which cries of fear. After one year I touch her, she rans to me and even my guests are allowed to touch her. I let her do it her way. One day she will allow you to touch the head, then the rest of the body and so on.

          Good luck.

It can take time. May I suggest a book, a pillow, and an afternoon in the bunny pen? Just sit, read, ignore bun. Let her know you aren’t there to hurt her, or pick her up. Just let her see you sitting there, not trying to do anything with her. The floor-ignore trick does work, just takes time and patience

I agree with the advice all ready given. Keep working on it.

With rescued rabbits, it’s hard to know where their fears originated from. Sometimes it becomes an ingrained habit for them but you can work with them on this.

Just a quick question: is the flooring in her pen very different to the flooring around the room? Lots of people have discovered it was the flooring that was preventing their rabbit from venturing out.
