it’s been a long time since I’ve noticed any cecal pellets in the litterbox and cage, but the buns have been eating, drinking, playing, etc, as they normally do. my boyfriend suggested they might be stuck to their bum, and that’s what they’re eating when it looks like they’re cleaning themselves down there. any input? I tried to give them a small amount of the laxative paste they sell for bunnies, but they can tell it’s medicine and refuse to eat  it lol.

however, when I took nikka to the vet a few weeks ago she unleashed a couple cecal looking pellets on the scale..

If you aren’t seeing them, that is actually a good thing. You SHOULDN’T be. If you do see them, then they are over producing, and their diet needs to change a bit.

I agree with Monkeybun. You shouldn’t ever see any cecals scattered around. If you do see cecals, your bunny’s diet is probably too rich.

Oh, good! haha. when they were younger I would see a couple scattered in their litter area [they weren’t completely trained yet, they had a diaper pad so all their business was easier for me to look at]. phew! thanks for the quick responses =]

(Does anyone know how many Weight Watchers points cecals are? Lettuce is zero….sorry. I’m having a bit of trouble with the new plan. Sigh. Sammy eats better than I do this week.)
