i was online trying to look for sellers of wood stove pellets since Home depot and OSH do not have it and I came upon this website that talks about how Pine shavings as bedding is not really a health hazard to small animals.the website is PineisfineDOTcom.

do you guys think its true??i still wont use pine for my bunnies though

I took a quick look. It appears their product is kiln-dried and this removed alot of the things that are thought to be potentially harming. Maybe alot of the beddings and litters are processed these days so the risks are lessened…?

Wood stove pellets are considered safe for the same reason. The processing reduces the aromatic oils. So even pine based wood pellets are fine.

kiln dried is usually fine, been using it for all my small animals for many years and never ever had a single issue with it.
