I know ppl ask about flooring a lot, but I searched and couldn’t find a topic, also the search is still broken, and I want to cover the carpet in my bunny room.

I’ve looked at gym flooring, and I wanted to do recycled tires but that’s a little too expensive… $400+… and I want to keep it under 200. Has anyone used gym mat puzzle square things? I’m mostly wondering about if the hay and poop will get stuck in the cracks of it.

        Please

        Please

Please suggest flooring for my room! I want bunny owner advice on this poop and hay mess before I make a big purchase. I will appreciate it so much!

        • Must be labelled waterproof
        • Must be non-toxic.. just in case
        • Not slippery, it’s for their play room

the puzzle flooring would not be good for chewers, those edges are just too tempting, and flooring bits in bun tummies isn’t good. I would maybe go with a cheap linoleum, easily cleaned without multiple edges that can be chewed on. You’d have to line the sides with something to keep it from rolling up though

I have 4 squares of the puzzle looking stuff, but Sunny started chewing it up, so I covered it with a sheet and tucked the excess underneath, and it is fine. He leaves it along now and doesn’t try to pull the sheet off, so it could work if you cover it and if your bunny doesn’t try to pull the sheet off. You could even use those corner sheet clips to keep it in place underneath, if you need to.

I found a great deal on those squares at big lots, and was going to get them, but then i thought about how tepmting it would be for a bun that likes to dig. I don’t think it would hold up well against puppet’s nails.
