Gus died tonight. I dont know why. I am distraught.

  He had breakfast. He scratched my leg asking for pets, and I pushed him away because I was busy.
  
  He went into his carrier around 5pm. Was loafed for awhile.
  
  At 10pm I decided he had been in there too long, and went to check on him.
  
  I found his dead body.
  
  Gus is dead.
  
  He was my baby boy, only 5 years old.
  
  He was laying in a flop position with his eyes wide open. I thought he was fucking sleeping.
  
  I cannot stop crying. Gus was my baby boy. I had him since he could fit in one hand.
  
  My baby boy is dead.

  Oh, I’m so sorry. That must have been awful finding him like that. As tough as bunnies are, they can also be very fragile. It’s hard to know what happened. You were doing a good job with him, so please don’t think this was somehow your fault.

  I’m so so sorry this happened.
  
  There are so msny things that can go wrong inside a bun, and they pretty much all first manifest as stomach problems. You did everything right (I read your Rainbow post just now), which means there was sth really wrong, not “just” a bout of gas or sth else that the owner can manage at home. I’m so sorry the vets turned you away.
