› Forum › HOUSE RABBIT Q & A › Guilty excitement! (Now with 100% more video!)
Soooo I got a text message from Nanci tonight (the lady who runs our horse shelter, and we have our bunny shelter together at her house)…Apparently a few weeks ago she found an ‘escape’ (faulty cage clasp) and now…we have four baby rabbits. We think she must have bred through a cage while she was out… ![]()
I am red in the face anxious right now and going their first thing tomorrow to see them. I hate babies being born because it just doens’t help by making more rabbits; BUT OMG I’ve never ever seen baby baby buns and I’m really excited and anxious about it. I’ve just emailed my breeder friend for tips and tricks. My head is spinning! I guess I don’t really have any questions for you all, but I’ll keep you guys posted, pictures TOMORROW and I’ll probably have a million and two questions then… ![]()
When there’s a will, there’s a way! Who was it? As far as I know the only females were Nala and Priscilla. Everyone knows how tricky rabbit proofing can be. Bet the clasps are triple checked now!!! Must admit, I’m sharing your excitement!
oh no! this is so unexpected and not at all welcome news… but you had BETTER POST PICTURES… of the ACCIDENTS… ;o)
for the future, i wonder if you should try to neuter/spay one sex right away upon receiving instead of waiting for an interested adopter… if you only have a few females, you could spay them right off the bat, so even if someone gets loose, this won’t happen again…
That’s unfortunate there will be more buns to try to home, but I can see why you are so excited. There is nothing in the world cuter than a baby bunny, that’s not just my opinion, it’s a fact
Yes, there had better be pictures within the next few days!
Jerseygirl- don’t you mean where there is a WALL there is a way….LOL.
OK- so Dad might be a bit of a mystery- but what breed is Mom??? I wonder if you might get a good idea of who dad is by what the babies end up looking like?? Of course I know in dogs and cats that litters can have mulitple fathers, so I would assume the same for bunnies- although that would have taken a lot of manuvering for Momma rabbit to date all those boys in cages. If mom is a mix, it might be harder to tell who the daddy might be- as genetic traits that Mom does not show could maybe show up in babies. I have to admit I am not at all familiar with genetic of rabbits and which genes and traits are dominant and recessive.
I can just see it now- K&K’s bunny rescue will be famous as Mommy bunny and all boy bunnies at the time will appear on the “Maury” show (for those that have never seen it- it is a daytime talk show that every other episode is titled either “you are my babys father and you can no longer deny it” or “one of these 4 men is my baby’s father”. They must get a bulk deal on paternity tests. When it comes back that he is not the father- Maury comforts the crying baby’s mama by saying “Don’t worry we will help you find your babies daddy- no matter how many men we have to test”. (There is something seriously WRONG with that sentence).
Don’t forget that even if one of the boy buns was neutered- unless he was neutered for more than a month he could be the babies daddy!
I agree- we must see pics when you are able to get them. Did Momma bunny pull her fur to make a nest? so did you at least have a little warning?
Baahhh I just took the pics off my cellphone and you can’t see anything!
Well she made a beautiful nest, luckily Nala loves hiding spots so we had bought her one of those igloo things, and that’s where she had the babies. Their are four beautiful babies. She put all her shredded paper (we give them all shredded paper to play with ) and fur in the nest-it’s incredible how much fur she pulled! We were talking and we have two rabbit rooms, and she was out in the one-the only male in there who isn’t neutered is Wally so we’re sure that’s who Dad is. Nalas a single maned lionhead. The babies all look fawn colored but look like they may be multicolored-who knows!
Luckily she’s in probably the best cage for it, it’s this cage we bought at auction-it’s a pain to clean but the grate holes are the size of a water bottle tip so the babes can’t crawl out of the cage (read that they start to crawl away and can get out and get cold and die) so although I hate the cage, it’s probably the best cage to have her in.
I’ve never seen babies so small! We aren’t touching them for a few more days-I know you can, some breeders handle right from birth, but we want to let her get used to being a mommy before we bother her. We’re just going to check twice-three times a day to ensure they are all alive and fed. They’re just soooo cute!
And no one is going to be staying in that cage (the one she got out of) again…
“Well she made a beautiful nest, luckily Nala……….”
I KNEW IT!!! I was kinda hoping it’d be Priscilla funnily but I suspected it’d be Nala. She’s the one whose difficult to put back in the cage and cage protective right?
“and she was out in the one-the only male in there who isn’t neutered is Wally…….”
I actually cheered here – Wally’s my favourite! I get the guilt part – know I shouldn’t be celebrating given the extra work for the rescue….but what has happened has happened.
Edit to add: You know, a positive may be that the babies will attract people into the Rescue………leading to possible donations and adoptions lets hope!
WOW Jersey -your keen! Yup our only females are Nala and Priscilla (Pepper who is at her mom’s house and we’re advertising to help but she hasn’t officially been surrendered).
I think we have mostly males as they come to us unneutered and we all know what unneutered males do! I just washed the walls from our unneutered boys painting them with pee-yuck! I really think if spay/neuters weren’t so expensive and pet stores didn’t sell buns (luckily the only one here who does is PJs petstore) we wouldn’t have a rabbit prob or a need for a shelter….
I was miffed-I just saw this ad on Kijiji…posted on the 26 of Dec…getting rid of their rabbit they bought on the 25!!! They bought it at a petstore (people posting online ads include details like this…) and their cat wants to eat it….I offered help by emailing and saying I could help them with some articles/tips on how to intro them and to get them living in harmony (at least get the cat not drooling over the bunny) they thought it was funny that their was a need for a rabbit rescue-well it’s people like that…
Oh well I’ll stop complaining! We have baby buns to attend to and I’m uploading our new buns(Calgary) to our site!
I can’t wait to see pics!!!!
They have wittle ears!!! OMG!!
Oh dear. 0_o My daughter is going to want to see those wittle ears….these baby buns should look much like Pip did as an infant bun and that’s one thing my daughter regrets about Pip…not seeing her when she was ‘wittle’.
Okay, and I gotta admit, I’m curious too. *sets up camp at this post*
What kind of idiot gets a bunny 12-25 and wants to get rid of it 12-26?? *kicks Kijiji poster*
Their going to be like little Mimz-Pip babies actually, minus our Wally is not a lop…
I KNOW thier is actually a really funny blog called http://blatantanimalidiocy.blogspot.com/ that just highlights terrible craigslist posters in Michigan…wouldn’t be so bad if it were all craigs list but it’s just one state… ![]()
Baby buns are so adorable. They make little popcorning noises and are toooo precious. I miss when my guys were that little.
oh my word K&K. that animal idiocy blog is too funny (in a “horribly sad and depressing because it’s real” kinda way…) ![]()
i just read this one… blatantanimalidiocy.blogspot.com/2008/11/i-hate-people.html at the bottom… i bolded the text myself.

I have a Female Great dane….I am looking for a Male Great Dane to breed her with.
Email me at smittenkitten128@yahoo.com
STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT. Stop breeding, you morons! Check out the Great Dane Rescue. They have rescue dogs in Michigan and the surrounding areas. What does this tell me? It tells me that we don’t need your dumb ass making more of them.
Why is it that people have this bizarre compulsion to breed things just because they have a uterus? Leave the poor dog alone. She doesn’t need to have puppies, she needs to be spayed and find a better owner.
absolutely. i couldn’t have put it better myself. spay and neuter your pets folks… ![]()
*pouty lower lip*
Awww….K&K, Could you ship me one female from the lot for Fiver (along with Norman), please? ^_^
When I talked to my vet about getting our youngest male dog neutered, she made it so cost prohibitive that we just try our best to keep him under lock and key. (Yes, he did break lead twice this last week and we know it’s because a neighbor keeps his female in an outdoor cage, so we’re not happy about it.) I mean, $500.00 to neuter a 12 year old dog?? What the heck? I’ll buy a box of rubber bands and cinch him up myself!
When we had babies the one time at the humane society they were so much fun! So little and cute. It is definitely one of those things you wish it could have been avoided but once they are here you cant help but enjoy them!
Beka I love what you posted above!!! With so many rescues and animals being put down for lack of space and homes why do people continue to breed? I will just never understand it.
I was watching Dogtown on National Geographic channel today. It was a rerun but they kept saying this female Pit Bull had been breeded several times “against her will.” Arent they all technically breeded against their will?
That blog (blatant animal idiocy) is one of my FAVS she is so spot on, and it’s nice to read something funny on all the horrible craigs/kijij ads
Nanci has some nic pics of the babies, just waiting for her to post them on photobucket so I can share. My cell is definitely not taking great pics and we don’t want to disturb the babes too much. I was told we should give her a week before we try to clean her cage on her. We changed her litter pan last night, and she’s kept the rest of the cage pretty neat and tidy (Which is good because normally she’s not great with the litter box).
We’ve just been checking the nest daily to ensure the babies are all OK and fed. They are so cute they squeak and talk when you touch them, and they do look like they might be muliticolored…I cannot believe their wittle adorable ears!!!
i read some of the back posts (that’s where i found the one i quoted above…) and it’s great. i’m thinking about sending her an email just giving her my thanks for a great blog… show her a little appreciation… maybe i’ll tell her a bit about where WE come from regarding the rabbit “rehoming” issues on CL/Kijiji…
wewantwittleears; wewantwittleears; wewantwittleears
postpix; postpix; postpix
Yeah! “wewantwittleears ~ wewantwittleears……”
When Jessi had her oops litter, one teacher reported…”one bunny’s babies are another bunny’s maybes.” It really made me laugh!
Not only wittle ears but wittle bitty bunny buck teeth! I found that to be even more amazing that the ears. Enjoy for the pleasure of the babies, for responsible pet owners the opportunity seldom happens. ![]()
Oooo…baby bunny wips (lips)! Along wif da toofies! ^_^
postpix; postpix; postpix
Here’s a widdle ears baby (August 9th, 2008) to tide ya’ll over till KK posts! LOL

This is Watchman btw.
Okay, All I can say is “EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE” Sorry if that hurt anyone’s ears, lol!
whats that? little ears TONIGHT??? I can’t wait to see them!!
Ok…soooooo I forgot my camera…
(really, who’s surprised? I’m a total airhead and had to rush strait after work to a family dinner, then to the shelters, then to pet sitting…That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!
)
So I snapped some better cellphone pics/vids. Please forgive!! I’ll be out either Wed/Thurs (Still deciding, I have stuff to do both nights, but time to go out to the shelter on at least one) and then out on Friday for sure too ![]()
Here goes!

Trying to add a vid now, bear with me I’m slow!!![]()
s213.photobucket.com/albums/cc181/kokaneeandkuhluha/Rad%20rabbits/
*SIGH—* OH MY GOODNESS! I can’t even convey…………
Gosh their fur came quickly. The are all Nala’s colouring? Oh, I’m so jealous of you! And you and Nanci get to name them all too, not like the other rescues.
Much Thanks for the piccies – looking forward to many more!
widdleears! widdletoes! widdlebunnies!!!!!!
oh my. i love their coloring! how many are there?
i know it’s early (obviously) but i’ve seen rescues post about accidental litters (or mamas coming in PG) on Petfinder very early on. they just say that there are x number of babies, they are not ready yet, but to cotact the shelter for more info… etc. since they’re babies, you might be able to get them spoken for quickly… or at least get people looking at your rescue…
That’s a great idea Beka! We have four, they look like they might be torte colored-it’s hard to tell. They were born with that fuzz on them! Their wittle eyes are already starting to open-I cannot wait -very exciting!
Gotta tell you – while I was bunny hunting, the stories about babies were the hardest to resist in terms of wanting to adopt them. And by that, I mean, if the foster posted updates about them and pictures, you fell in love before they were old enough to take home and they ate your heart up
If I hadn’t been determined to get an older rabbit from the shelter (I figure babies have an easier time – plus, older pets come with all the perks of training, etc…
) I would have scooped up a half dozen infants ![]()
*squeees very quietly so as not to wake the babees*
The extreme cuteness of those bunnies has rendered me pretty speechless (and that’s hard to do!!!)
Adorable….I love the color!
I recognize this was an oops litter and not ideal but aren’t we all so privileged to see this? I can’t believe they weren’t pinkies and were born with their fur already.
Again; I recognize this was an oops litter and not ideal…….. but I just feel so damn proud for Nala and MY Wally!
oh my gosh! sooo cute, you are so lucky, I hope you find them all wonderful homes. If I lived in Canada I would be temped to come by and see the little rascals myself, invited or not!! you better keep them under lock and key! ![]()

i think the occasional ooops litter reaffirms my belief that spay/neuter is so necessary. even when rabbits will never get out, even when they’re only bunnies, there is always a risk that somehow, someday this kinda thing will happen. babies are cute, but at what cost? they’re sweet to see grow up, but they do grow up and any way you look at it, they contribute to the overpopulation problem. and folks who don’t speuter the babies… yikes! the litters that are legitimate (lol… illegitimate?) accidents like K&K, SinisterMooess, and Yelpot are fun to watch, but i am so glad we don’t have to deal with this often. i don’t think i could handle it.
![]()
hugs to everyone who is helping their mama buns raise her babies! ![]()
Nanci uploaded some pics she’s been taking.
These are from I believe the day they were born,

And from this morning!!

oh my goshhh.. their fur is just perfect, I bet they are the softest little guys in town
!
they’re so beautiful! again, i love their coloring!
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG! Those are just so cuuuuute!!!
– Annette
OMGOMGOMG!!! I want them… All of them… Pittsburgh, PA to Edmonton, Alberta, can’t possibly be THAT far of a drive right??
OMG Lesley! They are SOOO cute. It’s taking a lot for me to not just drive over and steal them!
AAAHHHH!!!! SQUEEENESSSSS!! *faints*
OMG, they’re like little tiny bunny gnomes! SOOO cute! 0_o
I wish I’d seen Mimz at this age. He’s adorable now, would’ve been the death of me as a kit, the little sweetie. ^_^
And yes, my daughter has melted into a “widdle” puddle of ga-ga goo at all the beautiful little bunny babies! xD
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwww…
*saves pix to BB folder for future Calendar* squee!
OMG, what I wouldn’t give to kiss one of those tiny little heads! I’m so jealous!!!
Ok, this is terrible and it has NOTHING to do with these adorable pictures, but everytime I check in on here and I see this thread I read “Guilty excrement” instead of “guilty excitement) and then I wonder, how can excrement be guilty before remembering that I have gone through this EXACT situation at least 6 times in the last two days.
“shaking head at self*
oh sinistermooess! you are going to fit in here perfectly! i must misread thread titles ten times a day… LMAO!
with bunnies, i’m thinking guilty “excrement” is entirely possible.
LOL!!! ^^^
Well I think we may have a runt, definitely not a peanut but smaller then the other three. He/She has a full belly everytime I check so momma is doing a good job… just a little worriesome I guess
Puffy-I’ll kiss them for you, wish you were here though!
Oh, the cute fuzziness of it all!
Lolz…somehow I just got that old song in my head….
“Found a pea-nut, found a pea-nut, found a PEA-nut last night!” ^_^
BTW, how long before you know which are boys/girls?
I think eight weeks is the soonest you can tell. They’re tiny and just starting to open their eyes a crack, so I don’t dare tip em upside down yet
I’m thinking ‘Moustaffa, Simba, Hakuna, Matada” ![]()
lolz…You mean Mufasa, right? Not Mustafa? ^_^
What cute names! ![]()
Eh-hem…Just want to be advocate for my Wally here, you know – the Father?! What about some Wally names………
Waldo, Wairs, Walnut, Wil Wal ? ![]()
Groucho, Chico, Harpo, Zeppo, Bob
Love the lion king names!! What about Nala and Sarabee for the girls?
You *can* tell gender by as early as 3 weeks, but that’s for really good breeders and such. Around 6-8 weeks it should be pretty evident.
Mama is Nala…Who was Sarabee? I can’t remember the movie that well
Jersey-Wally names huh?
They are SO sweet!! My kids and I are enjoying the pictures. Thanks so much for posting them. ![]()
sarabi (sarabee how shes spelling it) was simbas mother. simba and nala had daughter kiara together so its like this:
Mufasa(dad) + Sarabi (mom) = simba (son)
Simba (dad) + Nala (mom) = Kiara (daughter)
Scar (dad) + Zira (mom) = Kovu (son), Vitani (daughter), and Nuka (son)<—–these are the "bad Lions"
Kovu(dad + Kiara (mom) = no babies yet.
SWEET thanks for the names!!
Soo….I should have pics to show tomorrow (we took them tonight so hopeing Nanci loads them up tomorrow)
BUT they have their eyes OPEN!! OMG so cute!! I can’t wait to share!
it’s ben a long time since i’ve seen this movie, but weren’t Mufasa and Scar brothers? so is Kiara with her UNCLE?
Beka! You should be writing to Disney about this. That’s OUTRAGEOUS! ![]()
Hahaha! Well I did see a doco not too long ago about how lions in Africa were becoming inbred cause of population pressures and stuff…maybe Disney is just trying to reflect the current situation? lol
haha your right kiara is with her uncle! but scar was never announced the father though. He kind of took kovu in and treated him like a son, but i dont think he was the actual father. he “adopted” him i guess. lol and announced him to follow his reign as king
Gasp! More intrigue….^^
oh! the mother was “on the prowl?” sounds like a Maury episode…
(sorry…)
They have their eyes open now!!!

This is runty v v

Those are pretty much the cutest things I have ever seen! The look sooo soft and snuggly! Little ears.. little noses… Eeee!
*Devises plan to convince boyfriend she NEEDS a baby bunny..*
i could cry… they are so precious. even the runt looks [pretty healthy, even if a bit smaller than the others. i love the second pic of the baby disapproval!
OMG, is that the world’s youngest disapproving bunny? I’ve never seen a look like that on a baby bun!
Just too cute!
– Annette
the first two pics, the bunny on the left, OMG!
“I may be young but I am notttt stupid.. turn the flash off!”
SOOO unbelieveably cute.. oh my gosh.
you are the luckiest person in the world to me right now!
Scooter here.
Way too cute. Almost disgustingly so.
Maybe it’s just as well we moved from Edmonton, or we may wind up with more bunnies than we can handle!
Gotta get off binkybunny. Too much work to do today to deal with this level of cuteness.
Hahaha, xParadise I’m doing the exact same thing!!
EEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!! Those are the cutest things I’ve ever seen! Thanks for the new photos. So adorable my heart aches.
*sigh* I always had a weakness for the runt.
I know you guys already said it by now, but I couldn’t resist:
How do you get any of the work done at the rescue?
LOL Well, they came out for the photoshoot and four minutes later curled up and went to sleep!! Soo they’re still to young to play with enough that it would interfere! heheh ![]()
omg these are the cutest things i have ever seen how do you go home at night! i wouldent want to leave the rescue!
I’m in absolute awe at the extreme cuteness of those little farts.
=O Aww!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok I was too dumbfounded for words when I saw them a minute ago… but you really need to submit that second pic to Disapproving Rabbits!
I was watching them hop around and they are starting to figure out the water bottle ALREADY
OMG too cute
I’m saddened by the lack of pictures of tiny bunny butts with tiny tails!
Don’t be sad Rachel!! ![]()

is that a stick of hay next to that bun? the HAY looks HUGE in comparison! they are so tiny!
So cute I could puke!!!! I LOVE the little smudgy noses….looks like trouble.
Can you Fed Ex baby bunnies across the country?, lol…
They are so cute! No words to express the amount of cuteness…cuteness overload…*backs away from computer*
Oh the tiny pointy tail! Is that the runty too?
*ahem* Can we formally charge Lesley with Murder By Cute?
^_^
My daughter is going to have apoplexy looking at these little sweeties. She is trying to picture Pip at this age.
Yup that was runty about to burst into a run!
It’s dileriously cute… *sigh*
Just got back from cleaning cages. They are 18 days old now (If I’m calculating right) They are BINKYING -OMG it’s cute! And zooming around. We let them out for a bit of supervised play-let me tell you mom was off the walls needing some exercise and away time from the ‘kids’ . They are drinking from the water bottle and it looks like they eating some kibble (or trying to!) already. Then mom was eating and they were nursing!! -And Nanci had gone upstairs to bed-with her camera!! I’m going to have to get some videos of them for you guys it’s jaw dropping how amazing they are already!
And I plead ‘not guilty’ to all charges Mimz, I have an Alibi!!!
Ohh and they are ‘poofing up’ now -I think they will all be a bit ‘lionheady’
xD
Oh no! You’ve said it now – the “V” word……….VIDEO! There will be much impatience emanating from everywhere now.
On the ‘poofing up’, maybe you’ll have to recruit Dave to help ’em out?
Poor Dave, does he even know how famous he is on BB.com? Probably a good thing if he doesn’t…
These remind me of Felony when I first got him!! He was only 4 weeks old, so not too much bigger than these guys…
Runs off to go look at Felony baby pics…..
EEEEKKKKK!!!!
I’m so jealous! I want to reach out with my finger and give them a little pet on the forehead ![]()
The babies are zooming, binkying and eating solid food (While sitting in the food dishes! LOL). They are drinking from the water bottle (So I put two more on the cage) and eating hay! I cannot believe it!!
Ok, I did bring my camera tonight, well my moms-mine is missing (sooo if you find a canon powershot full of rabbit pictures, please contact me
) and the batteries were dead!! BLEH! But I used my cell and I’ll get some better vids later this week
Enjoy the bleary cuteness! (another disclaimer, I’m a bad video taper-try not to get sea-sick!)

There was a lot of squealing while watching those. I even had Ricky watching and commenting on the extreme cuteness.
They’re like powder puffs with ears.
Is that unlimited hay for them in the tub, or litter? I think I saw shredded paper that might be their litter, but you never know when a baby jumps into the middle of a hay stack.
Close up of drinking water….sigh….
The babies are zooming, binkying and eating solid food (While sitting in the food dishes! LOL).
The first time we saw Tegan she was sitting in the food dish
She still likes to put her front paws in it while she’s eating. That’s her on the right (in the food dish)

– Annette
So cute S&A!!!
Rabbitpam ![]()
The shredded paper is one of the ‘enrichment items’ we give them (We’re striving to have at least three items available to them at a time, rotating them to keep interest, things like toys, houses, chews, cardboard etc). We also play music for them and I’m currenetly working on a ‘classical’ music CD collection to have for them, as well as ‘Nature/relaxation’ type music-lots of shelters are using it and I really like that idea for enrichment and for providing a relaxing environment. Litter we use yesterdays news or woodstove pellets, and hay on top. We have the MOST beautiful hay as it’s in huge bales for the horses, it’s super fresh timothy with 5% alfalfa in it, and it’s just gorgous top quality hay.
The little baby boogers are eating hay already too!
Most spoiled baby bunnies EVER??? ![]()
LOL It’s for ALL de bunnies! ![]()
K&K,
That’s interesting about the music. I’ve been wondering if Sammy would like some background music, the TV left on, or if it would disturb her rest during the day. I worry about things running while I’m out of the apartment (fire, electrical things not supervised) but I had a friend whose dogs listened to NPR daily.
Wow Lesley, you really are a dedicated bunny slave. But that’s sweet they have so much to keep them occupied.
And those babies.. Oh. My. God. SOOO CUTE! I almost dread reading this thread everytime you update it because it’s just that much more torturous. But I can’t resist those little bunny noses and ears and feet and tails.. Eeee!
Rabbitpam I used to leave the TV on for Kokanee otherwise she would be battpoop-crazy-off-the-walls when I got home. She’d just get too bored-I joked she had to ‘watch her soaps’
We leave the music on very softly while we are away so that they can rest without it bothering them, at night it’s off though.
I think a radio or TV is safe to leave on-I know how you feel though. I live in an apartment and I’m always compulsively going back up to check to see if I left anything on that could start a fire-and it scares me about what other people might leave on-Ok I’m done on the fire topic-freaks me out!!
aww they are so precious! Their cage looks so comfy, all of the bedding and such
they look just like Honey did when she was little..
So here’s what I think now:
It looks like two will have lion manes and two won’t. The two without I think are female and the two with manes I think are male
Hard to tell but I’m sure I saw “cheerio” shapes on the lionhead ![]()
So friggen cute! I need to add this to my work computer so when I’m stressed out I can watch the babies.
Funny thing about music. Just last Sat., I was woken at around 1am due to loud dance music. I thought “my neighbors must be having a party.” I put in ear plugs and went back to sleep, but still was repeatedly awoken by the thump thumps. DH got up around 4am and went downstairs to find one of our cats on top of the remote for the speakers. He had turned on the thumping music and refused to give up the remote. I was so embarrassed! Here I thought it was those “young’in neighbors” and it was my stinkin’ cat!!!! We have since been hiding the remote from him.
Also, I am a board Certified music therapist. Unfortunately, I’ve spent the last 6 years working on my doctorate in clinical psych, so I’m not really up on the latest research. However…..I’ve always learned that no one music is right for every population (or species). Research has shown that some animals respond very well to the sound of voices, therefore, talk shows or TV is best for them to listen to. There are some studies that suggest classsical music (especially Mozart) is very good for babies and animals. Mozart music has very specific tone patterns, that do affect the brain in positive ways. I’ve also been a fan of music that is specifically composed and designed for purposes of relaxation or content. My fav is Randy Crafton (www.craftone.com)
