My rabbit thumps when the occasion calls for it, whether it is picking her up or a loud sound, she usually thumps. I get why bunnies thump and what the meaning behind it is but, whenever my rabbit thumps she gives a grunt, then thumps, and hops away. Does anyone else’s rabbit do this? Or is my rabbit just more vocal?

Some bunnies are more vocal than others. Bombur tends to be very vocal. If something scares him he’ll usually grunt and thump. If I’m not giving him his food fast enough he’ll grunt, circle, and thump. When he’s eating a treat he’ll either squeak with delight or he’ll grunt. Asriel isn’t vocal at all. He hardly thumps and when he does he never grunts. He grunts every so often when he’s eating a treat, but that’s it.

I must admit that I amazed at the fact that I’ve had Bun for a year and she has only thumped once for certain, and a tiny half of one once… Now… my little Diva will turn around and show a new comer that Bunnies do Growl! HeeHee! But it usually takes a lot to get her there…

My bunny does the same thing. She’s way more vocal than my male rabbit, I’ve only ever heard him make noise when they were bonding. Anyway, Bailey loves sneaking into my closet and when she does she’ll thumb and grunt, it’s like she’s showing off that she snuck past me in there. She also thumbs and grunts after I let her go after grooming her. Some bunnies are just more vocal I guess

My rabbit thumps too, but I think it is just for the pleasure of hearing the sound, because sometimes he will stand kn the middle of my room, thump, grunt, and generally make alot of noise for no apparent reason. it is a bit annoying to wake up in the middle of the night to it, but hey, you just gotta love those crazy buns, right?!
