I’ve had my house rabbit Humphrey for four years and he lives in my bedroom with me yet he still seems very timid and afraid of me. It actually seems to be getting worse. When he was a baby I used to pick him up and hold him but he didn’t like it at all so I quickly stopped doing that and just spent time sitting with him
on the floor/feeding him. I thought that over time he would start approaching me and get comfortable with me petting him, but that’s not what’s happened, he seems to be getting more nervous/flinchy as time goes on. I have sort of accepted it and just leave him to do his own thing most of the time but sometimes I look at him and just wish we could cuddle/I could pet him. Is it too late to get that bond with him? And what could I do to relax him
More? The house is very quiet, we have no other pets or children so I’m
Not sure what makes him so nervous. I have thought about getting him a companion to relieve his ‘grumpiness’ but am
Not sure how that will go down .
Thanks.
