        Felony growled at me yesterday! I had no idea bunnies could growl!

        I guess he was upset with me because I had been gone all day, because as soon as he growled he demanded that I pet him for over 20 minutes…Such a diva! Has anyone else felt the wrath of the rabbit growl??

            Pepper growled for the first time when we were fostering Frisco.  It sounded EXACTLY like the growl of a small dog.  At first I just stared because I was so startled, then I have to admit that I cracked up laughing.  I mean, you’re a bunny.  How threatening can you be?

              Haha. That was exactly my reaction! First I was startled because all these months I thought he was a bunny and not a yappy little dog, then I started cracking up laughing. I think he’s confused and believes he’s an actual lion and not just a lionhead…I probably should have named him Mufasa.

                  That must be really cute to see but as they say, the little ones always try to act the biggest. i like that coment wendyzski said “I mean, you’re a bunny. How threatening can you be?” too cute.

                    my bunny mr.T growls all the time when ever husband goes in his hutch or to stroke him i read in a book it was some sort of trust issue like if you have change his food or his best toy broke but gone if you have stood on him.

                    thats when i realized my hubby changed his water bottle!! the previous owner told us he had it since she got him and wouldn’t use another so he put it back and there has been peace!!!

                      DJ growls often.  Soemtimes for no reason that I can see he’ll turn on Curly Sue, growl at her, then chase her.  She runs away a few feet then stops, and he goes about his business.  He growls at me too, if I reach into their pen and he sees my hand but does not realize that it is me.  Then he smells that it is me and will lick my hand as if to say "Oops Dad, sorry, did not know it was you".  If I ever have the scent of another rabbit on my hands he’ll growl too.

                      The growliest bunny I’ve ever met is a little 3 pound lionhead named Godiva (what is it about lionheads anyway?).  She’s been to our house twice for overnights before and after surgeries, so when we get her back from the vet she is MAD.  After her spay, when I tried to get her into the carrier to take her back to her foster home, it was growl growl grunt honk growl.  I finally put on my gardening gloves and just grabbed her to get her in the carrier.  I think she dislikes us :-}

                        Hahaha that is so funny that you figured out about the water bottle!  That was smart…I wonder if any of my buns are holding grudges against me for taking away their old shelter stuff!

                        Osprey – thats so sweet that DJ apologizes after grunting at you.  My little boy Kramer grunts at Juli when he wants to play – then scritches at her bum a bit until she runs away..then somehow he thinks she’s playing the game he wants to play and chases her around!
