        Hi,

In researching the best diet for my rabbits and the importance of Timothy Hay I thought perhaps a good daily fresh green for them would be if I grew trays of Timothy Grass – I’m just wondering if people have experience/opinions on this: do the rabbits like it,  does it helps with their overall health, is it a fast  or slow growing? Etc. Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated!

        Thanks

I think fresh grass is technically “better” than hay…? I forget where I’ve read that, but fresh grass is a fine alternative for hay. Naturally speaking, wild rabbits would be grazing on fresh grass rather than dried hay — we use hay because of its accessibility.

In terms of growing it, I’m unsure — no experience. What is positive about you potentially growing it yourself, you know exactly what is going into it, so there’s no worry about pesticides, chemicals, bug infestations, dog feces, fox urine… etc.
