        Hello,

I’m got my rabbit Lulu about a month ago. I have been having an extremely hard time grooming her. She will not tolerate being picked up, even for a second or with a blanket. She just completely looses it. I don’t ever pick her up. This becomes a problem for grooming time though. I have tried grooming her on the floor, but she doesnt really like to be touched and she hops away way to fast. Also, she is not distracted by any type of food.

I have tried bonding with her, and she will come up to me, but basically not allow me to actually interact back with her (very frusterating) . I was hoping someone else could offer advice on how to groom a bunny that really just doesnt want to be messed with.

A month is not a long time bonding in rabbits I’d give it more time This is a must read for helping to bond to your bunny-will help you understand what she is saying and how to say some things back http://language.rabbitspeak.com/rabbittalk.html

I’d use wet paper towels at this point, or glove brushes so you can grab a brush as she goes by http://www.tackroominc.com/images/KidsRubberGroomingGloveSm.jpg

oh! I didnt think to use a wet paper towel, the hair will reallly stick to that I think. Hahaha…maybe i should build some sort of grooming cube that grabs loose hair as she wiggles through…

My Monkey HATES being touched, so I feel your pain I just have her run through damp hands to get loose fur off. Silly monkey.

I try to annoy Freya when she’s eating hay. She only likes being touched on her terms and it never involves actually brushing her. I’ve tried everything. Finally I found out that if I get her when she’s eating she’ll put up with me for a whole 2-3 minutes before she takes off. We’re still working on getting her within 10 feet of a brush outside her condo.
