I’ve noticed this happening for a while. The bunnies have plushies in their pen that I gave them. It’s mostly Muffin that does this, but Pinky does it too. After they drink water, they groom a plushie for a few seconds or 20 seconds. I put a plushie next to the water bowls so it’s more convenient lol. I’m just wondering why they do this? Does anyone else’s bunny do this?

No, but one of mine used to take a drink and then groom himself.

It could simply be to groom the plushies either for some sort of claim/comfort or literally to groom. One of my rabbit will often come lick me after drinking water. He will actually hop away from being pet, drink, and then return to groom me.

LBJ10 Muffin grooms his dewlap after drinking lol I think just because he’s drippy.

Wick that’s cute!! You’re special to him. 💜 Pinky and Muffin sometimes lick my head or my feet lol!

My rabbits don’t groom their stuffie after drinking, but they do it whenever they pass it. I’ve always interpreted it as them caring for their stuffie, or accepting it as one of their own? Grooming is a super social behaviour in rabbits, almost like a love language from what I understand. So it’s kind of their way of loving their stuffie, at least I think. Or maybe they just think the stuffies’ hair looks messy 😉

Poe & Atlas LOL the only reason the stuffies hair would be messy is from them grooming it! All that fuzz sticks together and makes it look wet lol.

Yeah it took them a while to warm up to their plushies (as with anything new lol) I guess they could be accepting it and social grooming lol.
